Looks like I was able to solve this problem. The text style change appears to be linked to Internet Explorer only. When access on mobile (safari/chrome) and on a laptop at home (chrome), it works perfectly fine. Only see it as an issue on an older version of Internet explorer.
Secondly, I was able to resolve my social media icon issue.
