WP has a serious, unsolved problem and amateurs are thumping their chests. Just what we need.

WordPress clearly seems to be to blame for failing to prevent this Google cloaking hack.

And WordPress’ best response is to nuke your site and start over? Until the next time it strikes? That’s pretty lame. So much for WP sophistication. Just cut and paste an “if you’ve been hacked” message and look the other way.

Nuking the entire site seems a rather extreme cure to remove one little command that once wrote some ?ref names to a few posts.

Can someone tell me in which file a ?ref write command may be lurking, or how to exorcise them from some specific posts?

It’d be a far more surgical strike to repair that .php page than to subject my server and site to the WordPress equivalent of radiation and chemotherapy.

Huh? There’s no such icon, only an underlined trigger for the dialogue box that pops up with a blank for the URL. No target drop-down at all. Please, WordPress. It’s annoying as hell to have to manually type in target="_blank" with each and every link.

Same problem here! The visual HTML editor suddenly stopped working. Only code appears under the VISUAL tab, same as the CODE view (in fact, the toggle function between the two seems to be stuck.

And, after editing a page, only a blank screen appears on refresh — whether having done a SAVE or SAVE AND CONTINUE EDITING command.
