Update – Most issues fixed:
1. Disabled all plugins
2. Re-installed WP 4.2.4 via Dashboard > Home > Updates >Re-Install Now
3. Re-activated desired plugins
4. Working like a dream again …
5. EXCEPT those Front Page Content Boxes! They still want to display preloaded content, despite other text loaded into appropriate fields in editing. Have had to disable for now. I am aware that a fix is in the works via Evolve lite 3.4.3. (See other thread here).
How long until WordPress Theme Checker approves theme update?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [evolve] Button Text Color Evolve themeemranemranx,
Thank you for working to resolve the concerns over the past two days. I greatly appreciate your efforts!
I would like to change the button colors as well, but no longer have the Theme Options choice under Appearances as I did before, and Customize, Header, and Background under Appearances all lead to a “500 Internal server error.”
Can you give me some direction?
Thanks! Thanks for your reassurances, Denzel. Any idea of the general time frame in which you expect to have an update? Will your update reinstate Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options?
Thanks!
michellenocoQuestions:
1. I have a backup of my website files, but assume that restoring the backup to WordPress 4.2.4 will result in this same situation. I understand that NOT updating WordPress is NOT recommended, however how do I gain the result of having my website look the same and the Dashboard functionality remain as I had it?
2. If I want/need to restore a backup file to my website, how do I accomplish this?
3. Being new to this, will the evolve theme creators fix the theme in relation to the WordPress update? Or does WordPress make the changes?
Thanks for any education.
HELP! I had to take my site offline because it looks TERRIBLE after this automatic WordPress 4.2.4 update! The logo is enormous (full page), the title font is changed, the content box icons and button colors are gray … and that is just at the first glance. My Custom CSS is gone, the left side of the Dashboard > Appearance is different (no longer a place to get into options for customizing the individual components of evolve 2.0), and when I go to Appearance > Customize it tells me there is a 500 Internal Server Error. Please help!
Thanks a bunch, Andrew!
This is what I see on my Dashboard:
“W3 Total Cache: Default settings are in use. The configuration file could not be read or doesn’t exist. Please <save the settings> to create the file.” There is a red bar in front of this statement.
I am familiar with clearing the cache on Internet Explorer, but it appears there are many places to set various levels within W3 (General Settings, Page Cache, Database Cache, Object Cache, Browser Cache). All of the “Enable” boxes are NOT checked (presumably to enable caching?).Yikes! That’s new language for me! How do I go about doing that, if you have time to educate?
Still shadowed. :O(
Thanks for trying, though! I can always keep the menu bar thicker if needed. I do appreciate all the help with the CSS. So interesting. I’m amazed by the collective knowledge out there. I appreciate your time!Thank you for your efforts. I copied this code into my CSS, but it didn’t seem to change anything. I left the new code in there for the time being in case you have a chance to look at it again. Do you have any other ideas?
Thanks!Well, that didn’t go quite right. Still, I think it’s there somehow. Let me know if it’s not. Sorry!
Figured out 3. I had overlooked Appearance>Theme Options>Typography>Widget content font. Still looking to fix 1. and 2. if anyone can help with those.
Thanks!
