trackbacks is when someone references to one of your blog entries and includes the link to that… it’s really for linking and sharing purposes (something like social bookmarking)… the more links and trackbacks you give and other people give you… the higher up the list you will be on sites such as technorati.com… spammers are trying hard to move up such lists…

Well you did get a trackback… that’s for sure… but I’d say that’s one trackback you don’t need!! You’ve just been SPAMMED!!

Check out SpamKarma2 by DrDave! I run it and it catches every piece of crap so far… Great WP plugin!! You can also use the default Akismet plugin that comes out of the box… It will moderate trackback and comment spam!!

Same here!! But I had this on v2.0.2 and v2.0.3 even with plugins deactivated!. I don’t think it’s the webhost!!! Loading the home page takes a good 30 seconds. As an example, Gallery2 runs superfast if I directly access it (almost instantly) but when I load it through WP (WPG2) it takes its own sweet time… definately a big issue!

hehehe… mine is a lot simpler… i force all my users to login!! No login = no content! I think that’s why!! I’m assuming these guys have a ‘sniffer’ that pops up websites on a report that have not yet been rated by their national proxies… then someone will look at it and decide!!

check the config of wp-email and wp-print… there may be somewhere you put your blog urls and it could be a initial / or trailing / missing somewhere… If you can’t find it in the options go have a look inside the plugin file ie wp-email.php and look for any place in the beginning that may offer configurable settings for the plugin!

Go to the user tab and select authors & users. there are to radio buttons there where you can either delete (dangerous) or change permission level for the checked users!!

Just upgraded to 2.0.3 two days ago… sigh!!!! Some changes made to login.php and register.php to customise the login and registration pages (remove the WP logos and HARDCODED TEXTS)!!! anyone working on an intelligent installer??

Jokes aside… you should be able to export your joomla posts as opml or something… that can then be imported into wp2! You can also import using RSS but you’d need to ensure that your RSS feed is set up to send out ALL your articles.. As for your theme and plugins… start all over and check out www.ads-software.com/extend and widgets.wordpress.com for plenty of fun!! You can set WP up on the side while you play with all the new features and plugins and layouts/themes… until you’re ready!!

I’m guessing it may be a permalinks issue… go to Admin Panel / Options / Permalinks and update the structure.. try using based on post name rather than ID! Let me know how it goes!!

Your company has a proxy that is most likely not restricted the same way OR located outside of china (like for many international companies)! That’s why you get at it at work but not at home!!

My private blog (form my family and close friends who are all over the world) is not accessible from China’s ISPs.. but my friend who works in an IT company (american one) can view it from work…

Do you have a ‘custom’ admin theme installed?? I’ve had the same problem with such before!
