In reply to: [Facebook] Unable to Submit Action TypeWhat solved this for me was deleting my Publish action in the Facebook app creation admin, then recreating it, then confirm “Publish to my timeline — Post an article to my Facebook timeline after it is published” is selected in the plugin Social Publisher admin panel, then to try publishing a blog post to my Facebook profile without entering anything in the “Facebook Status on Your Timeline” entry box. Entering anything in that box at this stage was generating error messages and preventing the post from being published, thus preventing the trigger steps to continue.
After this, then the next trigger steps appeared.
In trying every combination of reauthorizing, reinstalling, deleting, deactivating of plugins, etc., of both this plugin, and the FB app, that I can think of, the desired entry boxes on Add New Post screen occasionally reappear… but then are lost again at the very next action.
With debug enabled in wp-config.php, an attempt to “Save” the settings in Social Publisher admin screen, generates:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/mikeshup/public_html/site/wp-includes/functions.php:2910) in /home/mikeshup/public_html/site/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 876
…and blank screen underneath.
Well –
After first upgrading to WP 3.5, I had all the boxes referenced in this thread in the Add New Post screen… but after attempting a new post, the issues have returned (no “Facebook Status on author profile Timeline” entry box, nor “Mentions” entry boxes).Additionally, I cannot seem to get the settings to “take,” in the Social Publisher admin screen… it just keeps going around in circles, I grant the permissions, and it seems to work, but then as soon as I make an additional edit selection, and/or hit Save, it just returns to the screen asking to grant permissions, screenshot here.
What to try next?
Looks like these issues all fixed for me after upgrading to WordPress 3.5 today… all the boxes are there, going to test things out now.
Upgraded to 1.1.6, however my above referenced issues still remain. I removed the application permissions from my Facebook account and re-authorized through the Social Publisher settings page, but no change…
If I publish a blog post, and use Social Publisher to have it published to my FB page at the same time, and also enter a message in “Facebook Status on (My Page) Timeline” entry box, where it says, “Sumarize the post for your Facebook audience.” …it publishes to my FB page with the status message no problem.
If a FB user then comments on my FB page on that post — is their comment supposed to also show up in my blog post’s FB comments box? It doesn’t seem to… but if a FB user first comments on my blog post, then THAT comment DOES seem to appear on my FB page…
Is this how the plugin is supposed to work?
I have deactivated all other plugins, and deselected and reselected the Facebook plugin settings, still with no change to above referenced behaviour. (And also deactivated and reactivated Facebook plugin.)
Is the version in the GitHub repository newer, and should I try installing that?
Any more thoughts on this? It’s very close to working completely for me… I’m able to post to both my Profile and Page timlines, the Comments are working, the Like (with Send) is working…
I have the “Facebook Status on (My Page) Timeline” entry box, where it says, “Sumarize the post for your Facebook audience…”
…but I’m just missing the equivalent box to do the same on my Profile timeline… and missing the Mentions boxes… all of which I did have in some of the 1.0.x versions
Does removing the application permissions from your Facebook account and re-authorizing through the Social Publisher settings page solve the issue?
No… I’ve tried re-authorizing numerous times.
Is there other steps I could try to verify that my account is properly connected to site’s FB app?
Yes, I had “Posts” selected; I just went through and selected various other combinations to see if that would enable the mentions and author status boxes, but to no avail. I also deactivated the Sharebar plugin, but no change.
In the Social Publisher Settings page under prerequisites, my items 1 and 3 have checkmarks after them, but not 2, screenshot here, is this a problem? (I have set up the Publish action, and it shows as Active in my app details)
Again, I seem to be getting most of the functionality correctly…Any thoughts on these issues? The plugin is otherwise working really well for me…

In reply to: [Facebook] 1.1.2 Now the Send Button next to Like is BrokenThe error message “The page at (the page URL is here) could not be reached.” appears after you click on the Send button… there’s no error message until you click the button. It was just working earlier this evening in the earlier update …
