okay. you all are extremely gracious for putting up with my feeble caveman brain. I have read and re-read chradil’s post and I understand most of it. I have also read and re-read

and what I think I understand is that when I modify the php files, it will automatically post the author name however I choose (first name, last name, etc…) <b>What I still don’t understand </b> is where specifically I insert <?php the_author() ?> in the actual php files.

oh I get it, your saying I shouldn’t code the post if php is the main language because of the link issue??

ok, do I have to enter in code for every post even after I alter the php files?

Hey, thanks that helps a lot. I’m still having a little bit of trouble. I tried editing the html to link up with an about page I created in WP which when I click on the link takes me to “the-egotist.com/?page_id=2” so I entered in that in like so:

accesskey=”h”><u>H</u>ome

• <u>A</u>bout
• <a href=”#” id=”navArchives” title=”Posted Previously”

  to:

  accesskey=”h”><u>H</u>ome

• <u>A</u>bout
• <a href=”#” id=”navArchives” title=”Posted Previously”

  But now when I click on the link iit says the page does not exist. Where oh where have I gone wrong?

well that is really bizarre. I emptied my cache and looked again and it’s still just text. But I checked some other blogs and the same thing is happening. Thanks so much for the help though. I’ll figure out what’s going on with my version of ie. thanks again.
