Looks like Google Adsense was the issue. Ad advert was stopping it moving up for some reason, it got stuck below it. It’s a strange one

I am using max-mag, but im not sure on the option to use widgets to setup the homepage. Obviously, i can use widgets though i am not sure about rearraging content away from the sidebar.

I could hard code the html into my child theme easily enough i think, my problem is where to put it and how would i then make sure the css covers the newly added stuff.

my Custom CSS deletes most of the code when i click save. I will try child theme soon

One quick one, do you know how i could centre the text in the featured grid, so its complete ccentre. I have used code to gfet rid of the tags and it moved up.

I’m not to sure about a caching plugin, my knowlegde isn’t that great at the moment.

I have had a problem where any css i put into my child theme style.css doesn;t seem to do much. I know it works because without the intro stuff like the theme details etc it reformats itself to no css.

i tried your code in my custom CSS too and it didn’t work. Could it be a style plugin overriding it?

There should be an option to just not have one somewhere? I use a plugin that lets me customize the options like that. It’s for twentyfourteen though, i’m sure there is similar somewhere.
