    Hi @portmeirion

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the Yoast SEO plugin. You’ve mentioned that the last two updates to the plugin (21.7 and 21.6) makes it impossible to save posts and that it makes mistakes. This isn’t the experience we want our users to have and we’d like for you to be able to use the plugin as expected.

Based on your description of the issue, it’s likely a conflict with another plugin or theme on your setup, so we would recommend that you try to perform a conflict check to identify the conflict.

We are aware of a recent issue with the Gutenberg plugin, so could you please check if deactivating or downgrading that plugin would help resolve the issue?

You can also create a new support forum topic so that we can try and help resolve this issue. Please do include all of the information from the conflict check, such as a screenshot of any visible error messages, so we can fix and address your concern.

Thanks for your feedback and we hope we can provide support and make your experience better.

    Hi @omarvgws

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and provide feedback.

While we did change the ‘Social Previews’ into the ‘Social Media Appearance’ in Yoast SEO 21.2, which also involved a change as to how the previews appear, functionally, it’s always been the case that you could only see the social media preview with the premium version. However, this doesn’t mean that you still can’t set a specific title, image, and description for either Facebook or Twitter/X, as that functionality still works as intended.

    Hi @solidindividual42

    Thanks for your review.

We understand you have a concern regarding the passive voice assessment in the content analysis. Human languages are often very irregular. That’s why it’s not always possible to achieve complete accuracy when automatically analyzing texts. In some exceptional cases, the passive voice analysis might fail to detect passive voice, or it might incorrectly detect passive voice when it isn’t there.?

We have a help center article here that talks about known false positives for the passive voice detection, which really depends on the site language used. We invite you to create a?new topic?in the plugin forum if it isn’t one of the known cases, so that we can help provide support, as well as improve the content analyses.

    Hello @web39

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve had trouble disabling the schema output from the Yoast SEO plugin. I can imagine how concerning it would be when something doesn’t work quite as expected.

We have a developer filter here to disable the Yoast SEO schema output entirely.

If you’ve implemented the filter and it hasn’t worked, please do try and create a?new topic?in the plugin forum so that our support team can look into the issue and assist you further.

    Hello @urbaknight

I’m sorry to hear you’ve experienced problems regarding the indexing/noindexing of certain pages on your website. I know how concerning it is when something doesn’t work as expected.

We know that the Yoast SEO plugin shouldn’t automatically set any taxonomy (categories and tags) to ‘noindex‘ unless it’s specifically and manually set within the plugin settings. The default setting to ‘show in search results’ should be ‘yes’. This also isn’t a ploy to get users to upgrade to premium, as the setting is available in both the free and premium version.

We’d appreciate it if you could create a?new topic?in the plugin forum. Our support team will look into the issue and assist you further.

    Thank you.

    Hi @binlercepresets

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve encountered an issue with the Yoast SEO plugin. Yoast has a global support team, so we can only answer your questions in English. We’d still like to help you; therefore, we’ve used Google Translate.

    Regarding your topic:

Were you experiencing any issues with the free version of Yoast SEO, or was this with the premium version of Yoast SEO?

If you could provide us with more details on the issues you faced with the Yoast SEO plugin, we’d love to try and help improve your experience. We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi @enerylan

We’re sorry to hear that. We believe that the free version of the Yoast SEO plugin is capable enough for you to optimize your site, but of course, there are additional features that come with the premium version.

Would you be able to expound on some premium features that aren’t found in the free version that you require to use on your site? We’ll use that as feedback for further improvement.

There were instances where a premium feature was moved to the free plugin, most recently, our Inclusive Language analysis, which was available only in the premium version, was moved to the free version.

    Hi @oladabrowa

We understand you would like to add the LearningResource schema property.

While the Yoast SEO plugin does output a base set of structured data, it doesn’t have support for this specific property from LearnDash. You’ll need to use our Schema API to add custom code so it’d output this property.

You can check it out here – https://developer.yoast.com/features/schema/api/

    Hi @adambenjamin

We understand you’re getting a ‘your sitemap appears to be an HTML page’ error.

Is this the Yoast SEO generated sitemap under /sitemap_index.xml?

Could you provide us with the URL to the website and sitemap so we can try and check on this further?

You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/why-is-google-saying-my-xml-video-sitemap-is-an-html-file/

    Hi @xgera

We understand that you’re not seeing all the options in the Yoast SEO plugin. Is this when you updated to the latest version of Yoast SEO Free 21.0?

Please try to temporarily deactivate the plugin and reactivate it. Does that help and can you see the other options such as the ‘Settings’ or ‘Tools’ in the Yoast SEO sidebar menu from your WP admin dashboard?

    Hi @hieronymusdesign

We understand you’re getting a PHP warning after upgrading to Yoast SEO 21.0.

After checking, it looks to be related to the Wincher integration. Are you currently using the integration in the Yoast SEO plugin? Could you check and see if resetting the integration by turning it off and back on would help?

You can learn more about it here – https://yoast.com/help/wincher-keyphrase-performance-tracker/
