In reply to: [WP Edit] non-breaking space button?Sorry, I mistyped that . I meant
I used the button to insert non-breaking spaces between the words
“non breaking spaces”, and between “the real deal”.So I had
non(button)breaking(button)spaces
and
The( )real( )deal
where (button) means I pressed the button
and ( ) means I went to the text editor and manually typed in instead of a space.
Hope that is clear now.

In reply to: [WP Edit] non-breaking space button?Hi,
Take a look at https://www.standrewsoxshott.org.uk/uncategorized/test/
I used the button to insert non-breaking spaces between the words
“non breaking spaces”, and between “the real deal”.When you change the window width (in firefox and in chrome) “the real deal” moves as a single word and never breaks, whereas it will break afer both “non” and “breaking”.

In reply to: [WP Edit] non-breaking space button?Um. Sorry to be a pain, but although the button inserts what looks like a space, it doesn’t seem to behave like a non breaking space:-( It seems to break just like an ordinary space, whereas inserting in the text editor DOES keep the words together, even though it LOOKS like a space once you return to the visual editor.
btw. I’m observing these effects in a real published page, not just in the visual editor window.

In reply to: [WP Edit] non-breaking space button? Thanks very much. However, I’m probably blind, but having installed the latest update, I still can’t see this button in the list of available buttons under the buttons tab. What am I doing wrong?

In reply to: [WP Edit] non-breaking space button?Err yes! I was describing the property of that prevents a space being split across a line (irrespective of browser width). So for example if you write
St Andrew’s you don’t want it to appear as St
Andrew’sor Friday 13 Feb as
Friday 13
Febi.e. a non-breaking space
You can always insert these in the text view, but it is somewhat cumbersome and error prone for non-html speakers, especially since they are not visble in the visual view. There used to a button for inserting them in the old days, but it disappeared with the new version.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] How to display all day eventMy apologies, I’ve just found the if all date shortcode

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] OffsetYes, I need to be able to display events for the next 8 days (church services for the next week, including NEXT sunday, when today is a sunday.), and previously used an offset to do this, so I’m a bit stuck until I can do this.
I’m also having some problems with the styling, but I expect I can sort that out with some judicious CSS.
Seems to work with some of them, after I had remembered that the IDs would change. (Incidentally, it seems to have made at least 3 copies of each feed, with different ids). Bizarrely, if I don’t change the ids, the event extraction seems to still work, except that it puts a pseudo calendar grid in the sidebar!
However, for some feeds I previously had a timespan of 8 days. i.e.
Retrieve events from 0:00 today 0
Retrieve events until 0:00 today 691200I seem to have lost the ability to specify those offsets.

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] Search Query Option gone? Thanks
Just noticed this…
Please include a public-facing post/page address (URL) of it in action so we can see how it looks if possible.
Sorry, but since the “search query” option is broken in 0.7.3, I have had to remove all these from my site until it is fixed. I can post examples URLs when it is fixed.
I’m using it to customise various calendar extractions, and also using the search option to look for the string <p id=xx>, where xx is various two letter codes, to limit the selection to certain types of event. (Note the display of the <p id=xx> is of course null in the main calendar listing, so I can insert it as a hidden tag).
Here are some example:-
<div class=”gce-list-event gce-tooltip-event”> [start-time] [event-title]</div>
<div>[start-time] [if-location] at [location][/if-location]</div>
[if-description]<div> [description html=”true”]</div>[/if-description]<div> [start-custom format=” D j F \\a\\t g.ia”] [if-description] – [description limit=”12″][/if-description]</div>
<div> [start-custom format=” D j F \\a\\t g.ia”] </div>
<div> [start-custom format=” D j F \\a\\t g.ia”] [event-title] [if-location] – [location][/if-location] [if-description] [description html=true] [/if-description]</div>

In reply to: [Simple Calendar - Google Calendar Plugin] query syntax?Hmmm. Something suddenly changed (presumably the google API) and the ‘”word1+word2″‘ trick to search for a string containing a space no longer works. Anyone got any ideas?
