You’re right. Changing the theme solves the problem. The theme is called Themize and is no longer available. It came bundled with a number of other plug-ins and I suspect some of them were not authorised. It all worked brilliantly at first but various things like Visual Composer now don’t work properly. I think I’m going to have to ditch it and use a different theme.
