  • Double oops. This plug-in just broke the entire site. I can’t even get into admin now. Will have to do a complete restore from backup. Thanks, but no thanks to this addon.

    Warning: require_once(WP_PLUGIN_DIR/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/compat.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ripsyc5/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/define.php on line 1449

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘WP_PLUGIN_DIR/w3-total-cache/inc/functions/compat.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/home/ripsyc5/php’) in /home/ripsyc5/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/inc/define.php on line 1449

    Ooops. Was going to the wrong wp-content.

    The correct location for those files is /public_html/blog/wp-content.

    I was going to /public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/wp-content.

    Deletions on the upper level enabled installation of the add-on.

    Thanks

    Hi, Sorry this didn’t work for me. I deleted /wp-content/advanced-cache.php but there was no folder /wp-content/cache/ to delete.
    I have also tried to uninstall and re-install, then when that failed I used ftp to delete the plug-in completely, then reinstalled and deleted advanced-cache.php and tried again. All produce the same fatal error. Any help is deeply appreciated.

    I had same problem. After a long search for solutions, etc., I ended up deactivating all plug-ins. Then reactivated each, one at a time. Problem solved. I think that in upgrading, not all the plug-ins were deactivated and so caused a glitch in the install process.

    Good luck.
