In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostHi Jacques,
So we went ahead and almost finalized the Swedish translation today, and as it turned out I was elected as PTE. ??
Now just some small issues remain concerning the official Swedish package I assume, and I have gathered them here: https://www.evernote.com/l/AMDgK6KsvM1MfJJW1sBZ4TXSWf77Yfk4NG0/
Mainly they concern strings in the English source, to which I have added some suggestions. So I am looking forward to your response about them. ??
Best regards,

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostHi Jacques,
OK. About the Countries list, could I export from the database in a format that would facilitate for you to add Swedish to the default list?
As it turned out, it seemed that Loco just had loaded a little more than half of the strings to the editor… So, now I have added all my suggestions to the translation page suggested by Johan above (thanks, Johan!). I hope we’ll reach the 95% limit soon (or more, of course). ??
Regarding Country and Profile in Rencontre, as I assume both are set to “sv” (please see picture 1a and 1b in screenshot link below) — if that was what you were referring to? But still “Sweden” turns up in e.g. the user profile and in the search form instead of “Sverige” (see picture 2).
Furthermore, there seems to be a lack of consistency between the Region names in the user account vs in the search forms. In the former they correctly have “l?n” endings — as being fetched from the GeoNames plugin region list? — while in the latter some of the region names lack the “l?n” endings — as fetched from the Rencontre internal Country/Region list? (please see picture 3). Do I have to keep track of both the lists to present consistent Region selection lists to the users?

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostThanks a lot!
Now, I went ahead and added all the nations in Swedish under Country. I also have translated the user interface by now — by 100%, as is reported by Loco. So, things seem to have worked out to a great extent by now. ??
But, there are still some few issues, which are presented here: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s192/sh/d9b1968f-71b7-4c47-b31c-fe881fcd83a8/7e545a1214e6b2de
When I’m sure I have done as much as I can to make the translation good enough, I would gladly hand it over to you. ?? Btw, how can I export the Swedish translation for Countries?

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostThanks, but it still doesn’t seem to work. After deactivating and deleting the previous version, adding and activating the new version of Rencontre still makes the question marks showing up on the Rencontre General settings page as I have chosen Swedish as the website language. :-/ English still vorks as before, though.

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostA short update: This also affects the user profiles and search forms, not only the admin panel.

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Country selected by default is lostThanks,
I erased everything under Country, and re-installed them… but to no avail. :-/
Then I just tested to switch WP site language from Swedish to English, and whoops the countries re-appeared in the list. And when I return to Swedish again, the countries vanishes again… Please see screenshots at https://www.evernote.com/l/AMAbnitNRsxOb5dv5oCjLbue3TuDdVRI_W0/ Any clues?

In reply to: [Rencontre - Dating Site] Translation codes for profile UI?Thanks a lot for some quick responses! ??
As it turned out, “sv” seems to be the correct language code to add in the Rencontre Profile panel (see https://www.evernote.com/l/AMBX-YKr709ANo9V5NJTRzRr-Ot7L92_kps/, where the added “sv” is default while also “se” has the same added values — both marked by yellow, and seem to work as expected now). So thanks for the clarification!
Regarding general translation of plugins, I’m not always sure in what context the strings turn up in the user interface, and therefore I’ve found that sometimes “straight” translations may not always be the most appropriate thing to do. Primarily that’s why I prefer local translations, at least until I have wrapped my head around what the plugin looks like and what may fit a general Swedish user. A practical example from this plugin is e.g. the “Smile” button, which I prefer translating to “Gilla” (eng. “Like”) since I assume that is more appropriate for a Swedish Facebookified audience. I guess that kind of issues may provoke some discussions when translating together with others? Otherwise I regard it a splendid idea and solution, and would most certainly enjoy to contribute.

In reply to: [Oria] Several oddities…Hi, Vlad, and thank you so much for your response!
1. After some new tests I have found that I was incorrect. The reason whas not that the website title was not clickable, but rather the long response/loading/preloading time, which made it seem nonresponsive… So I guess you may remove this point from the list. ??
2. Agree, it is a cool feature. ?? A pity, though, that it may irritate some visitors. ?? … Or, perhaps, that, on the other hand, will help the website to stand out. ??
3. My concern: Sometimes many entries in the carousel may add to a cluttered impression of the website, since the index page (in my case, at least) presents all the posts below the carousel in a grid already (the way I want it).
4. I have now found that as the big picture post shows up as the mostleft post in the carousel, the title also is shown and makdes it clickable. ?? (I reckon the leftmost post picture decides the vertical size of the carousel.) My site: https://www.typocafe.se.
5. Well, I am not sure abot what you mean here. I am referring to the index page, as the visitor enters the URL in the browser… and does not get a hint of why the loading times is so long (or if the site is unreachable). Once on the site and clicking, however, the preloading gauge shows up, thus giving a hint that something is going on (which may be quite crucial to the visitor).
Thanks again, Vlad! Really appreciate this theme for its professional looks and feel, and will continue using it despite a few glitches. ??
