I am trying to upgrade to the latest version of WP and am getting the same FAIL message. I have tried to change the permission to class-wp-filesystem-direct.php, but despite this, it reverts to the old permission. I have now spent 40 minutes trying to get this working and trying to find some help on here, but without luck. Help please…

I am experiencing the same issue with this, and the .htaccess file hasn’t made any difference. Tonight was the first time I experienced this. Can anyone help?

All I know is that I haven’t made any security change in the last few days, and everything was working fine at the end of last week.

Oh, excellent. I usually use the Copy From Word option, so that could be the problem then. I’ll try that and let you know how it goes.

Further to my previous request for help above, I thought it may be something to do with my template, so I tried to apply a couple of other templates, including the standard WordPress one, but the same thing happened.

I have looked to see whether I could find an answer on this but could see anything. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
