OK, need to clarify.

The faulty URL is actually:

https://domainname.com/wp-content/plugins/ft-calendar/includes/js/jquery.tools.min.js?ver=3.2.1

So anytime ANY page on the site is visited, this URL generates a 404.

Note the “https”. I actually do not use a SSL certificate on my site, so don’t understand why FT Calendar is generating a HTTPS.

I had a quick fix to do this. If anybody’s interested to get a copy of the mod-ed file, let me know — am happy to share.

As it turned out, HSN does accommodate shortcodes within its shortcode. I just didn’t know this at the time that I posted here three months ago.

Yes, I actually increased both memory and file size in PHP.

And, okay, I finally found that darn page in SETTINGS to increase the upload size — set it to 8MB and I’m all set.

I’d done the DNS for the wildcard subdomains. But it turned out I also needed to do it in CPanel.

So, all sorted now.

No, I had no fancy quotes. But I finally found my silly mistake: I wrote it as define(‘WP_ALLOW MULTISITE’, true); instead of define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true); (ie missing underscore between ALLOW and MULTISITE.

This is all fixed now.

After updating the plugins, the missing bits are now appearing again.

After I upgraded the plugins, the missing bits are all back again.

Just clicked the link – the site loads fine on Chrome, if a bit slow.

I suspect maybe it’s the images that’s slowing it down. Maybe the file sizes?

There are two types of spams to guard against: auto-spams and manual spams. In addition to Akismet, I use the following plugins to guard against both: NoSpamNX (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/nospamnx/) for spam bots and abuse.ch httpBL check (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/abusech-httpbl-check/) for known spammers.

If you have good anti-spams installed, requiring no registration from commenters is not really a big problem anymore.

Of course, you can forget about anti-spams, too, if you don’t mind moderating each and every comment that’s posted.
