All resolved. Simply changed template and it showed up. Sorry for the trouble.

I’m going to bump this thread again. Please take a look at my entry above and I’d be grateful for your assistance. Like others, the Dashboard is blank as well.

I thought I’d post under this thread rather than create a new one.

I was merging with older entries to my new WP and then made a backup. On the other WP, it was a version 1.5 while my current and active WP is 1.5.1.1. I followed the Restoring database from backup and fixing Siteurl procedures exactly. The query was successful. Then I upgraded to 1.5.1.2. Now, my WP is not showing up on main page. I’m not sure what went wrong? The siteurl is correct and I was able to view and edit entries as well as the rest of WP admin without a problem. The main page is the only thing that’s not showing my entries. I’m stumped by this. Help! TIA.

It worked! It’s all in the site url. Thanks so much. I have it up and running smoothly.

I appreciate for all of your help! Again, WP is a great software.

Ok, let me retrace my steps. I did a fresh install on the new website. Then I dropped all tables within the database via phpmyadmin. Then I followed the directions on tamba and codex. After that, I got a white blank page. I noticed that on the wp login page it was plain without the typical WP login page and the links on that login page had the old link to old website.

In my old website, it had different layout, different configurations, and some plugins but I removed those plugins while backing it up to a sql file.

    What could have gone wrong?

I cannot believe how unbelievably simple it is. I got all worked up for nothing. =)

Just one and last question: I noticed that after I created Write -> Page using About template, I wasn’t able to post the content right in WP unless I made changes in the About.php file. Is there a way to write directly in WP or do I have to manually fill in myself? That’s it. Many thanks.

Yes that’s what I’m trying to say. I found it within the folder.

Thanks and you nailed it. But this still doesn’t explain step by step how to implement is_pages(About me). I looked at the pages you pointed out and they don’t really explain how to include the function you speak of.

I’m always a sucker for such elegant and simple designs. It’s funny that I’m using same template but tweaked it a bit like you did. Good job.
