    Thanks Joe for the hint, but in the weekend I “grasped the nettle”: I reinstalled everything & re-entered the whole settings (which I previously copied/pasted in an Excel file ??
    Now everything works as a charm!
    Thansk again & bye!

    Thanks Joe!

    Since I have > 50 pages with at least 1 waymark map each, and I’d need to edit them all one by one, adding the “loaded_callback=”waymark_refresh” in the shortcode, do you think you’ll ever add it as a “global parameter” (=if TRUE, all maps have the reset button) to the plugin configuration? If yes, I think I’ll wait for it ??

    Joe, thanks, that’s very useful! The only thing is: I know how to add PHP functions to the functions.php file, I’ve done it already.

    As for Javascript functions, Google tells me that I must do it like this:

    function ti_custom_javascript() {
    ?>
    <script>
    // your javascript code goes here
    </script>
    <?php
    }
    add_action('wp_head', 'ti_custom_javascript');

    Is it enough I litterally copy & paste your JS function over there, with no further editing?

    Thanks Joe.

    Yes, after double thinking, it would be also great an option like “Full screen button only”: this option would hide all +/-/layers/current position buttons from the map, and also avoid any dragging made on the map by mouse/mouse wheel/fingers. The only possible action is a click/tap on the “full screen” button.

    Look for instance the map on this page (it’s not my website).

    https://www.monterosaoutdoor.it/itinerari/alpenzu-e-col-pinter/

    You see? In this case there’s a trick: the first map on which you click is just a a static image that triggers the opening of the full screen map, draggable, etc… this is the behaviour that I would like to reproduce, as it would solve all side effects of the darn mouse wheel ??

    This is an example page of my mountain hikes website (oh, I’ve recently translated it in English, BTW): in this one, there are 4 of “your” beautiful maps. If you scroll up and down with the wheel, you will probably see the wheel catching control and moving around the map, unintentionally…

    https://www.sentierigressoney.it/en/sentieri/adlers-nest-shelter-trail-7a

    There are other ~40 pages like this one on my website, this is why I am quite sensitive to this topic ?? Even though it is not so much annoying, I’d like to solve it if possible.

    Thanks for your help with this, Joe!

    I was thinking of a (possibly easier) alternative: I could show on the screen a STATIC image of the map. By clicking on this map, I should be able to open one of your maps directly full screen… unfortunately, even if you added an option to open a map directly in full screen mode, I think it is not possible to link a shortcode. Too bad…

    Thanks for your help! Yes, the rest of the plugin is working fine… see here above the list of plugins I am using…

    Thanks Joe. I did not create another thread because I thought that the missing “zoom” settings was related to the original issue that generated this thread. It was not clearto me that the “zoom feature” did not enter the official release due to that bug on the elevation, I am sorry.

    Clear with the hint about refreshing the settings in the DB: I will not do it soon, as I have a lot of markers and it would take me some time to reconfigure them all. In the meanwhile, I will go on without the attributions.

    Thanks as usual!

    Hi Joe. Back to my latest message, is it correct that I cannot see the zoom level in the settings of the latest version of the plugin?
    I thought you included it in all versions after the “first” 0.9.19-a1… well, in the latest version it was not there, and therefore I had to go back to version 0.9.19-a1 to get that setting back.

    Second, I cannot save the attribution anymore, for all my basemaps. Neither in the latest version of the plugin, nor in the 0.9.19-a1. Both in staging and production. I enter the attribution in a basemap setting, I save the settings, I reopen it… bam, the attribution field is empty.

    It is working: I can see the GPX, the basemap is the one I’ve selected…. but I still cannot save the Attribution on each Basemap in the Waymark settings.

    In addition to that, in the same section I don’t have the “Zoom limit” value anymore. I thought you’ve added it in a recent version of the plugin. Am I wrong?

    Thanks for the prompt fix: I am remaining on the “old version”, as I need the zoom limit…

    (Previous message: of course I meant “Hi Joe”! I would help if you renamed the plugin “WayJoe” ?? )

    I’ve solved it by installing an old version of the plugin. The one I’ve found here:

    https://github.com/morehawes/waymark/tree/topic-basemap_max_zoom

    It’s the one you prepared for me to include the “zoom limit”.

    Do you have any clue? Apparently, both the latest version of the plugin and the previous one were behaving the same…

    One thing I also noticed is that in this “old” version the Attribution is not saved anymore. See here:

    Weird, so weird…

    Hi Joe, thanks for your answer!

    I am trying to do something different with Waymark. I aspire to make good software. This means not trying to please everyone.

    From my standpoint, the “mouse wheel unwanted zooming” is the only relevant issue in your plugin, and I would appreciate a lot any quick & dirty solution to this one :-), but I understand your standpoint as well and I am accepting it. I am just hoping that the solution to this one can come out before the end of the major overhaul of the plugin you are planning, otherwise it means I need to wait for a long long time…

    I do not agree that a keyboard modifier is a good solution. What about mobile users where a keyboard may not be available?

    Please note: I am not asking to request the user to press the CTRL key also when he wants to zoom by clicking on the + or – buttons with the muse. I am asking to require the CTRL key pressure only when the user wants to zoom using the mouse wheel.

    Look at this website that I’ve found:

    https://www.caimontilattari.it/sentiero/325/

    Please check the map on the top of the page. If you use the wheel while the mouse cursor is over the map, you have the warning message “Please press the CTRL key if you want to zoom with the mouse wheel”. If you press the CTRL key, then you can use the wheel & zoom. This is a very good solution, in my mind.

    On mobile, the issue is not replicable because you don’t use any mouse wheel to scroll the page on mobile…
    On mobile, you’re scrolling the page by swiping your finger, and it is not so easy to accidentally touch the map because swiping is normally done on the left or right border of the screen. In case you accidentally touch a map, the map would simply move, and not zoom in. It’s the unwanted zoom in (and then the unwanted zoom out, as soon as you notice it and try to “wheel back”) that is very annoying, when you’re using it on a PC…

    I actually really like this! Added to my To-Do list ??

    Great! A reset button would help a lot already…

    If that is the case then a review would go a long way.

    Ops, I thought I did it already. I am going to do it right now ??

    Ciao Mat, both radio buttons are disabled.

    See the screenshot: https://imgur.com/bMnKOQJ
    Remote Server is not available because, as I told you, I am still testing the free version of the plugin (and it is reserved to PRO version only).
    It is strange that Imagick is not enabled, though…

    Thread Starter Angelo Mariani

    (@mistermagoo8691)

    Nope! Let me recap:

    1) the batch conversion is working fine, and it’s always been like this. It is the conversion after a new file is added: this one never worked. In the log file I always had the message” async conversion started”, and nothing more. No files have never been created in the /upload-webpc folder.

    2) After your debug version #3, there has been a little change: now it seems like it tries at least to convert the files I added, but… look in the screenshot below: the size of the .webp file is 0 bytes, and it also creates a .webp.crashed version of the file (it is 0 bytes as well)

    https://imgur.com/BhHxYm0

    Therefore: now the conversion starts creating at least the file, but then it crashes…

    That’s it ??

    Thread Starter Angelo Mariani

    (@mistermagoo8691)

    No, did you see my last message in page #1? Now if I add an image, it crashes during the conversion…

    This is what I wrote:

    Mat, a step forward: now I see this on my “uploads-webpc” (screenshot):
    https://imgur.com/a/9LVZEt4

    And I’ve got an email from my website hosting service, saying the following:

    an E_ERROR error has been triggered by line 165 of file /web/htdocs/staging.sentierigressoney.it/home/wp-content/plugins/webp-converter-for-media/src/Conversion/Method/GdMethod.php.
    Error message: gd-webp encoding failed

    Now it is the encoding that is failing…
