    Resolved:

    1. The phpMyAdmin option in the above link worked, so I was able to log in. But the problem of the broken link remained.

    2. I remembered I had added the WooCommerce plugin. When I deactivated the plugin, the Lost Password link worked again. So it was caused by a conflict with that plugin.

    Thanks for the help.

I finally tried the FTP option in the Codex link, but it did not work. At first it looked like it would work – the URL changed for a moment to “…/wp-admin” but then I was redirected back to the login page. The Lost Password link still does not work.

I am using Twenty Twelve theme. The question is not just, how do I reset the password when the Lost Password link doesn’t work?

The question is also, why is the Lost Password link broken?

I have not customized the Twenty Twelve theme at all, not one bit of custom code. I chose it because it was built and tested to be a WordPress default theme (in 2012), so it should be very stable and not break like this.

Please note I am not a programmer. Thanks for any help out there.

Thanks, the FTP option might work. Will try this weekend.

    Hello again,

I still cannot find the installation instructions – and the .zip file is no longer on my client’s account page when I log in. Further, I tried uploading the .zip file in the Add New plugin screen, using the instructions in the Readme file, and it gave me this error message:

“The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”

So now I am stuck, with no bulk uploader and no .zip file. Please advise asap, or I will have to switch my client to another vendor’s store locator plugin – and ask for a refund.

    Thank you,
    Pat

Thank you. Can you please provide a direct link to the installation instructions? I found it once but it’s very hard to find it again – it’s not in the release notes and not in the pro pack support page. A direct link would be much appreciated.

This link is to the store locator:

i added a font-family style (it had switched to courier). to get the selector buttons to align left (they had switched to align right, though the text labels stayed left), i removed the line space between the intro text and the shortcode, which fixed the alignment problem.

although i’m glad it was an easy fix, i’m still not to happy i had to fix anything at all, just from changing to the new shortcode.

I’m confused because I don’t know what Google Maps API key is or does and so I haven’t used it in SLP.

But since manually entered store data (we don’t have lat/long data) seems to work, maybe SLP gets the geocodes some other way, or the way you described (which I didn’t understand)?

Because another clue – for you, not me, since it’s working for me now, so far – is that for one of the two stores that turned up “uncoded” with a red highlight, the store actually shows up in search results. And when I clicked the edit button to add lat/long, those data were already there!

No need to respond to this message or educate me on Google Maps API key; I’m just hoping my (admittedly clueless) clues help you decide whether to remove the troublesome Google Maps API key in the next release.

Meanwhile, I’m also hoping my plan to upload 25% of the total store locations a day (roughly 650/day) continues to work. The data is very simple (4 columns), very complete, and very clean.

never mind, I found the theme selector in the general settings, thanks.

I broke up a file with about 2500 stores into 4 .csv files with Retries set to 5 and just uploaded the first one with only 2 missing geocodes and no over limit messages. I plan to upload each of the 3 others one per day. (When I first tried uploading all 2500 stores about half got over limit messages.)

My question is: Are the geocodes required for Store Locator to include stores in the search?

If I enter locations manually, geocodes aren’t needed and it still works. But the first time I used the bulk upload, with all 2500 stores, the ones that weren’t geocoded didn’t show up in the search results, even when searching for the specific zip code (and checking that the zip code was accurate).

This time, though, the 2 with missing geocodes do seem to show up.

If it isn’t needed for Store Locator to work, why use Google Geocodes at all?

    thanks,
    Pat

Unfortunately, it’s still happening after I updated to 3.8.8. You can also see it on this page, where the list is in triplicate:

It definitely is a conflict with the JetPack Share plugin, but I have no idea how. I hope you can find a fix, because otherwise your product is great.

After several plugin updates, this conflict with Jetpack’s Share function is still not resolved.

This is not a big problem with my current clients, who don’t care about Jetpack’s Share function, but it is a big problem going forward, with future clients who do.

I am not going to forego Jetpack’s Share function to avoid this problem. Instead, I am going to find another store locator plugin that works correctly with Jetpack.

I’d rather not search for another plugin, so please provide an estimate of when this conflict will be fixed. Thank you.

P.S. Actually, it also happens with Jetpack’s Sharing plugin, so it must have something to do with connecting with social networks etc. I do need this plugin especially.

I also don’t know if upgrading to WP 3.5 last week started this problem. I didn’t notice it before, but I wasn’t looking for it either.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

    Hello again –

I turned off all plugins, and the Radii Options drop-down worked correctly – no duplication. I turned them on one at a time, and Jetpack’s Publicize plugin seems to be causing the problem. I was counting on using Publicize on this site. Please advise.

    Thank you,
    Pat
