In case anyone else needs this, the recreation job was made much easier with the Duplicate Post plugin.

It seems to be an issue with the BadgeOS Community Add-On. When I deactivated BadgeOS and the Community and LearnDash Add-ons, the title of the Comments manager became the usual “Comments”. I activated BadgeOS, still “Comments”. I then activated the Community Add-On and it was back to incorrectly naming my achievement type.
