THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! That solved it perfectly.
Still not working.
When I put my pages in responsive mode (tablet, cell), the “Edit Navigation Menu” has the following settings:
Under the “Content” heading, under the “General” tab, and for “Select Menu” I set it to “DropDown Menu.” I created this menu in Dashboard > Appearances > Menu because when i left that field as the “Main Menu” my dropdown icon didn’t work either. For “Layout”, I leave it as “Horizontal” because when I put it as “Dropdown,” it changes the menu layout while in “Desktop” as well. (What is up with that by the way. I thought when you changed something in responsive mode, it only changed it IN THAT mode. I’ve found that adjusting alignment of elements in one responsive mode changes it the others as well, but sometimes.)
For “Breakpoint” I set it to “Tablet (< 1px) because when I set it to “Mobile (<1px) the menu won’t go to dropdown/hamburger mode in the tablet response mode.
Is there a resource I can be directed to? I have a decent understanding of web development (html & css), but wordpress just seems so arbitrary and inconsistent in its application. And every tutorial I see is from an earlier iteration of the software and of no help. I can’t imagine coding my site from scratch wouldn’t be easier than working with wordpress/elementor/addons.
