Hi Mostafa Soufi (@mostafas1990)
1) Re
The beta version will be release in the next version on WordPress repo
When is the next version on WordPress repo coming out?
2) Is the beta version from your GitHub site, the file in the same directory, entitled “wp-sms.php” ?
Do I need to download other files, and set up a folder system?
How do I place this on my site, and will it need to be removed in order to go to the formal update when it comes?3) The plugin site on WordPress
a) The screen shots are quite a way down a long page.
Screen shots help to sell the idea of the plugin to a prospective user.
It would be beneficial to also have the screenshots directly available in a “Screenshots” tab.
This would indicate that there are screenshots, upon immediate arrival on the page – some people might leave if they see that the plugin has no screenshots.
b) I noticed room some typo/grammar improvements. Would you be okay with me posting some suggested corrections (in a separate post) ?Thanks
Okay.
When its fixed, please let me know, and we can set the resolved setting. And possibly you can mention on the Plugin Description page the versions of PHP the it is compatible with.
Thanks for your help and good work.
Hi Mustafa Uysal (@m_uysl),
Is it possible to have the ability in the program to detect which memory caching system is used, and then provide the settings for that system?
If so, then any settings which are in common for all memory caching systems, can be made evident (e.g. either bunched together, or “settings in common”, or color highlighted).
It might be possible to allow the user to supply their preferred settings for more than one memory cache system (whether available or not), and then they can switch from one to the other (e.g. if more than one can be done, or after an upgrade).Recommended settings for each system can be supplied by the plugin.
But also if the user make s an adjustment for one system of memory caching, then the plugin could recommend adjustments to settings for the other memory caching systems.
This would be handy for upgrade paths, where users may have optimised the settings for their own site, and can upgrade and at the same time have a similar set of settings for the new caching system.Just a thought -could be another Topic
but
Is it possible to flush the cache of just the page that is edited, or the product in WooCommerce that is edited.Re “PHP7+ soon”
How soon?
I am testing quite a few things on the site at present, and would like to include this in the testing. Thanks
Hi Mostafa Soufi (@mostafas1990),
I am a little confused, so I’ll seek clarification.
Is the beta version available through the wordpress updates?
or
Is it in the link above
https://github.com/veronalabs/wp-sms/archive/master.zip
or is that the link for NuSoap?
and
If the beta version is non of those, then where do I get the beta version from? Thanks
Hi almendron (@almendron),
I informed “PHP Compatibility Checker” that this is compatible.
Thanks
Hi Mustafa Uysal (@m_uysl),
Re
We are using memcached-redux as drop-in for memcached (not memcache) and it looks not compatible with php7+
Does that mean that the plugin is “not” compatible with PHP7, or just that part of the plugin is not compatible.
If it is just a part of the plugin’s set of features, then it could be set to “not available” or “available in future” for when PHP7 is detected.
Re
you can use Memcache for object caching and it’s compatible with php7+
Do you have instructions on this? If so, then if Memcache can be run along with this plugin, then “How to” instructions could be included in the plugin.
But
It would be quite good to have the plugin detect PHP7 and then switch to using Memcache – I don’t know; is that possible?Just to let you know –
I am not running this plugin yet. I installed it and scanned it, and won’t run it until I am confident that it will work okay. This is my standard procedure for any plugin not known to be compatible – avoids negative experience and related feedback.
I am looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks
Hi Mostafa Soufi (@mostafas1990),
Thanks for the quick reply.
I would prefer to scan when the update gets through to the WP plugin site for auto updates.
Is that zip file for beta testing?
If it is for beta testing, how do I test it, an dhow do I revert back to standard afterwards? You could probably test it too, by running the PHP Compatibility Checker plugin.
Thanks
Version 4.2.8
which seems to be the very latest version that is available for download,
as at Sunday 27th August. If the plugin uses some code to detect which PHP version the WP site is using, then that snippet of code would be handy to send to PHP Compatibility Checker, so they can look for that snippet, within plugins.
Thanks
Sorry – It “is” compatible.

In reply to: [ManageWP Worker] ManageWP Worker and PHP 7Hi Nemanja Aleksic (@kouteki),
It would be helpful to include some information on the “Details” page for this plugin, about which versions of PHP this is compatible with? This will also be handy when PHP 7.1 comes along.
Thanks

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Ability to adjust browser cache settingsHi Emre Vona (@emrevona),
This topic was submitted as “not a support question”.
It is a feature suggestion for the feature as titled – “Ability to adjust browser cache settings”.That is the main concept, suggested in the hope of helping to improve the functionality of this plugin.
Each detailed paragraph expanding on this concept, is 5 or less sentences long, so perhaps could be read in stages, if you wish.Thank you for your help.

In reply to: [Plugin Manager] Plugin Manager – method to change color of a groupHi Sujin2f,
Thanks for your reply.
I had seen the gear icon there, but I had a dashboard notice at the top of the page, and this icon seemed to be positioned near that, so I thought it might be something to do with the notice. When I hovered over the icon, it changed its appearance, and I noticed the web address pop up at the bottom of the browser view. The web address that popped up was the same page. So I thought it was some sort of link back to the page, or back to top of the page.
In the main plugin list page, it seems to nothing anyway, if clicked, other than showing what looks like a blank menu on the left.
There was no hint of what its function might be.
This icon begins to function when a group is clicked on.May I may the following suggestions, any of which I hope are helpful;
1) When the icon is hovered over, some explanatory pop-up text box, would be very helpful. e.g. “Adjust settings and colors for a group tab”
2) A text label beside the icon would be handy, especially as there is plenty of space.
3) possibly consider relocating the icon down to the “bulk actions” line, which would give the appearance of a tool bar for managing the plugins.
4) A good icon for picking colors, is a color picker icon. A color picker icon is not good for use for “general settings”, but if you wanted to manage colors as separate function then it might be useful.Additional consideration – clicks and page loads.
The present system, works by getting to the plugin list view, then clicking on the group, then clicking on the gear icon. 2 page loads, and 1 pop-up, and 3 clicks from the main menu.1 click, and 1 page load, would be saved if there was someway to click on a group name (or select a group), and choose to adjust the settings for that group.
The popup would still appear on the left, but the group page load is not needed, since the pop-up was able to be activated from main plugin list view. This would make it much easier to change colors for plugin groups, because it can then all be done from one page – no forwards and back (or opening new browser tabs and deleting).
One way this might be achieved is to place a small gear icon in each group label/tab.
Another way would be to have a small check box in each group label/tab, so the group that is going to be edited can be selected. This might also allow the selection of several groups so that they can all be set to the same color at once.Another click and page load saver, is to have a submenu under plugins (on left) that pop-out all the groups, so the user can jump straight from the main menu, to the plugin group (bypassing the need to load the list page of all the plugins).
I hope some of this is helpful.
Thank you for your good work.Hi James,
If you think the idea is a good one, then do with it as you see fit.
But just to be clear;
the emphasis is on “how to have a smooth flow through the Forum Topic process”, like the friendly receptionist, so things end up at a suitable location, by whatever method (which sounds like modlook is the method). Thanks
Hi James,
Is there a way/method/convention for supplying a bunch of ideas that are all related to a central concept?
e.g. do we use key tags, link to other topics in the group, title. Thanks
Hi James,
Thanks for explaining the acceptable use of modlook for moving a topic.
It feels a bit like ringing emergency, about a cat stuck up a tree.
But that’s ok if everybody is happy with it.Is it possible to add mention to the info page, that modlook is the way how to request/suggest a Topic move to another Forum?
