In reply to: Sorry, you are not allowed to access this pageAs a clarification, I don’t have a problem signing in to my site using my admin login. I have accessed the site using my admin name and password and been granted access with all of the editing options available to me. And, I can go to my forum without the “Sorry . . . page” message.
However, when any “non admin” person signs into my site, they are not allowed to go to the forum and they do see the “Sorry . . . page” message.
In my SQL database, “wp_user_options” page, the ”option_name” column does not include a “wp_user_roles” or “user_roles” option_name. There are 11 pages of option_names and none of them contain the words “user_roles” or even the word “roles”.
Q1 – Am I looking in the wrong place for “user_roles”?
In the “option_name” column, there is a “users_can_register” option_name with an “option_value” of “1”.
Q2 – Is this “1” restricting the access by any registered users beyond me (assuming admin is “1”)? And, was there some place in settings for me to set the number of authorized users to a number other than “1”? What happens if I change the value to 1000?
I read in a comment, above, that WooCommerce might have modified or deleted “user_roles”, and wondered if my plugin provider, Implecode, might have done the same thing for their “ecommerce catalog for WP” plugin, which I employ. I am reluctant to re-insert the “user_roles” name and its “value” without Implecode’s blessing.
NOTE: I have asked Implecode, through a support ticket, if they removed the “user_role” row and associated “Value” from the database, and if re-inserting it will cause a problem.
Q3 – So, assuming it is not an issue for Implecode, do I just go to the “insert” tab on the top of the “wp_user_options” database page and input the option_name “user_roles” or” wp_user_roles”, and the option_value per the @padreed123 recommendation above?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] From Address on Contact FormsI am at a loss. I put the “from” line back to the default on my Contact Form 7 contact page and the system let me save the contact form, so I thought it was good.
I used iPhone to sent a contact request using my personal email address and got a “there was an error trying to send your message, try again later”. I tried it many times and it will not send.
I got a similar message when I tried to use the standard WordPress CoBlocks contact form last week.
So, it looks to me like I did something when I setup WordPress that is stopping contact forms from sending to my email address. What did I do???
I remember the setup asking me if I wanted to use some anonymous email process to keep my customers from knowing my email address. I think I said yes (bad me). It said contacts would be sent through some server in Arizona then forwarded to my contact email address.
how can I turn this feature off? Maybe it is causing the problem.
Any help will be appreciated. This is literally all I have to get right to go live on my site and I am at a loss.

RE: the last post. One more data point. When I go to edit on the “Welcome to” page it shows the website link to be vintageeclecticarts.com/home_trash/product.
OK! I put the search widget in quick access and it is now on every page. Yea!
However, when I go to the website a blog page comes up as my first page, not the “Welcome to” page which is what I want to be my home page, and was my home page until 2 days ago.
I trashed the blog page a few days ago and deleted it permanently today – no change.
I went to the “Reading” page and the drop down for set home page only shows my “Contact” page. When I go to my “all pages” page I see a “contact” page and a “Welcome to” page.
I don’t know what to do. And I don’t know what I did to cause this change.
Any help will be appreciated.
Sorry about the email address. I forgot the rules. I just thought it was a logical part of the issue explanation. My bad, I am already getting marketing mail.

I thought I was just using the eCommerce contact page. I don’t remember downloading aother plugin. I will check.

I am adding a new issue because I cannot find the add new topic button after 2 hours of looking and reading and looking.
My ecommerce with catalog me! theme catalog flow, upon initial installation, flowed as follows
welcome page > product page > 5 product category pages > many individual product pages
I have eliminated the “product page” by introducing the 5 product catagories on the welcome page with HTL directly to the 5 product category pages, as follows:
welcome page > 5 product category pages > many individual product pages
Issue: when I search down to each individual product page, on the bottom of the page I find a “go back” htl to the original product page, which is in “trash”.
Everything works fine, but this may cause confusion for a customer, since the original product page is no longer shown in the list of pages at the top of the screen.
If I permanently remove the product page, will it cause a problem, and how do I make the “go back” htl on the bottom of the product pages go away or “go back” to the “welcome page”?

Thanks for your help. I am now able to put in may products per category.
I am using eCommerce Product Catalog for WordPress. The theme recommended by the plugin is Catalog Me!. They are both developed by ImpleCode.
I go to the catalog name on the left side of the edit page and click it. A page opens which includes all of the products currently entered for this catalog.
Before I entered the last product, the top of the page included a button called “add new product”. Since I entered one product for each of five categories of products, this button is replaced by a button that says “add new ” “catalog”
