In reply to: [Ollie] Button in Header NavigationHi there, right now, you can’t have a button inside the navigation itself, but in WP 6.4, which is coming soon, you’ll be able to do that!
Until then, you need to have the navigation block and a button block grouped with a row column, as seen below.

In reply to: [Ollie] Link also for Cover-ImagesHey there! First off, your site is looking great! Great job working with the Ollie patterns and customizing them in unique ways. ??
Unfortunately there isn’t a way to do this just within the cover block, however, there is a pretty clever CSS trick I found that will work. I tested this and worked great on my end.
Looks like someone also provided a solution using a block style as well. One of those should work well for your use case!

In reply to: [Ollie] Theme update process – 2Thanks for the report! This could either be a quirk in WordPress when switching themes or a quirk in the way we’re adjusting that setting. At any rate, I’ll take a closer look and if there’s a fix we can put in the plugin, we’ll do that!

In reply to: [Ollie] Sticky HeaderHey there! First of all, your site is looking great! ??
There is a little workaround we have to do for sticky headers that use template parts (such as the header template part). I’ve made a video showing you how to achieve this:

I believe this will be fixed at some point, but for now, you have to wrap the template part in a group for this to take effect.
Keep in mind, you’ll need to do this on each template that you want a sticky header to appear. If you only want it on the homepage, you might consider creating a template specifically for it. Hope that helps!

In reply to: [Ollie] Theme update processOk great, glad you were able to restore that. I made a quick video with a few ideas about how to move forward from there.

In reply to: [Ollie] Theme update processHey Ronald, sorry about the confusing transition. The lion’s share of the confusion here is coming from how WP stores customized templates and styles. They are stored in the database, but they are also associated with the theme name. I think we’re all still figuring out the right workflow for this kind of scenario. I’ll be taking notes so I can help other folks through the transition.
Here’s what I would try. First, if you have a snapshot of your site before the attempted transition, I would roll back to that first. That will restore your customized templates and styles.
If you don’t have a backup, we should try switching back to your original Ollie-Main theme. That theme should restore your customized templates and styles because those are associated with the theme. (I believe that’s why they disappear when you switch themes. They are still there in your database but not showing for that theme.)
Let’s see if we can get your site back to looking how it was and then we can look at a fresh transition.

In reply to: [Ollie] Theme update processHey Ronald, sorry the direct upgrade isn’t working. It should! I’ve had customers report that’s how they updated to the latest. But we can try a few things here.
First, if you activate the new theme, what does it look like? Do you lose some of your design/styles? You may just be able to keep the new one and remove the old one. It’s possible the header/footer would have to be set up again.
Let me know what you’re seeing and we’ll go from there!

In reply to: [Ollie] Ollie is a phantastic block theme!Peter, I must admit, I didn’t even think of that association of an ollie being the first trick and Ollie being a first block theme. ?? I’m most certainly going to borrow this analogy though! Thanks, buddy!

In reply to: [Ollie] Theme PreviewYeah the demos here on .org are not very inspiring. Some themes have demos that are nicer and that look like homepages, but they’re using a front page template hack that actually confuses users and makes it hard to edit your site.
We’re not going to do that, so hopefully they’ll improve the default demos on here somehow!

In reply to: [Ollie] Ollie 1.0.8 I don’t see the Setup wizard.Hi @welldun1, thanks for trying Ollie! Unfortunately, the wizard and dashboard had to be removed for the theme to be allowed on www.ads-software.com. Check out the blog post I published yesterday about this.
We’ve moved the onboarding to a plugin, and will hopefully have that available soon!
