I hate to keep bothering you, but I’ve got another couple of questions. How do I find out the names of the default fonts in a theme?

And how do I change the default fonts in the — criminy, I don’t know what they’re called. The headers (the body copy in each box changed just fine) of the boxes in the sidebar.

I’ve downloaded the WP Google Fonts plug-in (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-google-fonts/). I tried clicking on the various options to see what each option changed, but haven’t had any success with those. Or with the header text at the top of the page, either, although I like that and probably wouldn’t change it, anyway. Everything else changed just fine.

    Thanks!

Okay. Thanks. I really do hope this is easily fixable.

I tried both, and have posted over on the Relik forum. I hope this can be worked out, because if it can I think I’ve found my theme. At last.

How long does it normally take to hear back from someone in a theme’s forum?

Relik says it requires its parent theme, Destry. Does that have anything to do with why the header image thing isn’t working? Also, what does that mean? I clicked on the link, but I’m afraid I can’t understand the explanation given there. Does this mean I need to find Destry and install it? Or what do I do?

    Thanks!

Can you help me with another question, please? A friend recommended I try Relik, and I think I may be able to make it look at least closer to what I want. Except for one thing. I can’t get my header image to show on the actual page. I’ve uploaded the image, and the header page says it’s selected, and I’ve clicked the update button, but when I click on “view page” there’s no header image.

    Help?

Hi, again. Sorry I didn’t get back to you right away. I don’t think I want to use the Adventure Journal theme after all. The only thing I ever did like about it was the torn paper edges [wry g]. I downloaded Weaver II, but I think I’ve gotten myself in way over my head with it, although it did allow me to upload a background image that makes it look a bit less modern.

I’m just not sure what to do next. What I want is an old-fashioned looking theme that allows me my own header image and to change fonts and background colors/images. Really not much more than that. Is there a way to find something like that? Something that’s not overwhelming for a beginner?

I’m not finding a “themes” folder on my cPanel.

When I went looking for it by name, it said on my dashboard that it’s no longer supported.

I think I can follow the instructions on the link, but I’m a bit dubious about the part where I have to find where the website downloaded the file onto my machine. Will I be able to choose where it downloads to or will it hide the file in new folder I won’t know the location of?

I’m sorry. I’m finding WordPress very overwhelming. The only reason I’m going with .org instead of keeping my old blog is that the .com blog won’t let me do some things I need to do.

Also, when I click to download the Adventure Journal theme, how do I get it onto my dashboard?

This is what I meant by raw beginner [wry g].

Thank you. I just found it and posted over there as well. Is it a good idea for a raw beginner to use a no-longer-supported theme?

Are there any other non-modern-looking themes on the www.ads-software.com site that I’m just not finding?

I’m sorry to be piggybacking on someone else’s thread, but can someone please tell me how to start a new topic? I can’t find the screen to do that to save my life.

Also, is there a specific place I should go to be asking to find out about old-fashioned looking themes? I’d like to find something similar to the old Adventure Journal theme that I was using at WordPress.com before I switched over to www.ads-software.com. Apparently Adventure Journal isn’t being supported any more, but everything I see is so modern-looking!

    Thanks!
