  • Hi. I want to test exporting wp_table_reloaded tables.

Can Tobias or NativeMoon post an example sql statement to accomplish this?

@kcristiano you are correct. this time i was asked the questions about attribute.

I wonder if when i rebuilt the site something went awry.

I would like a bit more information on how this is accomplished:

“As far as using MySQL, that is the only way to change a username. I never delete the built in admin account, I change its name. I want that account to be there, just not obvious.”

If you change “admin” to “admin2” how does the original “admin” remain?
Do you have a plug-in to edit MySQL or do you do it via MyPHPAdmin?

WP should be looking at allowing the new admin name to be established on set-up. And as well as the directory of where wp-admin resides.

@2009switcher. I did no transferring of any kind. What i have determined is that after one has created the second full administration rights id, then deleted the default admin id… everything is lost except POSTS. Those remain. So it would seem that WP considers PAGES and Images as tied to an id but posts are available to all ids. This can cause major headaches where one may want to cancel a certain ADMIN id and have it replaced with a new one….. don’t cause then ALL pages created by the old admin will be deleted! Not very intuitive this kind of behavior …

Now i have to rebuild all the image files. My restored Admin id can no longer see all the image/pdf files that i uploaded a few days back. really peachy this…

I can confirm that when you do this via the CP:
    /wp-admin/users.php

you get no warnings of any sort!

try it and see how fast your whole site is borked.

And as for renaming via MySQL… how many people do you think would think of doing it that way… that is what the CP is for! At least it is for the cms that i am familiar with.

I lost two days of work. that is the bottom line. It should not be this way. ??

Well how dumb can WP be?

I just now went through the same agony that DrDClutter experienced. Whatever you create under a user all work is tied to that user. So if i created 20 pages under “admin” and then after creating a new user called “nimnuts” and have given that user full administrator rights and then delete the original Admin id as a precaution to prevent hacking of wp sites as happened recently … it meant that ALL my pages got deleted!! There is no warning when one deletes an id that all “THEIR” pages will be deleted! Unlike any other major cms out there you cannot have admin level access to common files. Silly!!! Fortunately i had my site backed up and the sql backed up and i was able to recover and lost only one week of work . But this means that i am STUCK with having the user ADMIN so that every hacker in the world will at least have the user name guessed and just needs to crack the paswd.

Very frustrating. So be warned! You cannot delete ids that have created Pages.

that is not correct. I have twenty files in the uploads/ directories. Five of the images in that directory that I CANNOT see from the admin panel (Media Library) are being used in the pages and posts . so how come? they must be in the db

In which SQL tables are images listed?

when you uploaded the theme did you just upload the cms2/ folder? don’t upload cms2/CMS2/ …

Try uploading via ftp to see if your problem goes away. make sure the permissions on the cms2 dir are correct

Thanks for the link about WordPress MU. I was not aware of this version of WP. But to be clear … we don’t need Multi-Blogs. We will have 5-7 editors who will want to be able to publish to various sections be it News, Blog, or whatever. We will have only ONE blog, ONE News Section, and another 7-10 sections. Do we need WordPress MU for this purpose?
