In reply to: Permalink trouble after upgradeJust a suggestion, as I had the same problem, downloaded my whole site as a backup, then installed update etc, then friendly the URLs were all broken.
But when .htaccess is downloaded and saved locally, it becomes just ‘htaccess’, so when reuploaded to the server, make sure you rename it with the dot at the front, or it won’t work.

In reply to: why has par\ tab\par\tab suddenly appeared on my sidebar?For anyone who has similar troubles, it came about because my RSS feed wasn’t working, so I added an absolute link to it in my sidebar, rather than letting WP point to it. Removed that and everythings fine again.

<h1>
down to below the limit of the header, for some obscure reason. So just reduced the top padding on<h1>
a bit and its now fine.Thanks for your help guys (and girls of course) ??

I ran it through the w3 validator, and cleared up all the faults. it’s now totally valid code, but it STILL won’t display properly in IE!
Now what?
