I’m having a similar issue with Cart66 Lite 1.1.3 … we had a nightmare with wp e-commerce, paid for the gold cart, it’s broken and buggy plus NO SUPPORT.

So I started playing around with Cart66….. love it so-far. We plan on buying the paid version. During testing on my MAMP localhost, the cart empty’s on Chrome (beta 12), but it stays put in Safari, and I can even go so far as using my paypal sandbox. Why does it work on one browser but not the other? I even tried renaming the site URL to 127.0.0.1 and this breaks Safari and still doesn’t fix Chrome.

Any help would be appreciated. Also may I suggest you incorporate ShipWire? I would love that feature. Great work guys, you’re finally bringing a real shopping cart to WordPress. I like how I can customize my pages the way I want, and hook the buy button into where I may use it. All the other carts create this horrible looking product pages, which I don’t want to use. Thanks again!

stefano your modification works, but it breaks the WYSIWYG editor. Is there any fix for that?

Also, an easier way to get rid of the GoDaddy ads is to use this in your CSS:

{
display:none;
}

I put it in the theme and admin css.

This is a fresh install. Are you talking about Google Gears, to speed up the backend? Don’t you need to enable it first to use it? What do you do to “switch the gear plugin?”

jordy1 – Same issue here too. I looked at your video and said, thank-god someone else with GoDaddy.com hosting and WP 2.8 install with the same issue. There is another thread here with this issue:

Anyone figure this out yet? One suggestion was changing permissions to 755, but it doesn’t work. If you use IE8 you can see the wp-admin page, but any other browser, it looks like it’s missing some CSS.

I’m having the exact same issue with GoDaddy.com free hosting. Tried everything. I’ve found 2 or 3 threads on the net regarding this exact issue, and they all just end after 3 or 4 posts…. with no solution. This is a real issue. You can only use the 2.8 wp-admin on IE8 (Yuck!) otherwise, Safari, Chrome, Firefox it looks like it’s missing the CSS.

One blog mentioned changing all the permissions to the uploaded wordpress install to 755, which I did, but it didn’t change a thing. He had 3 comments on his blog, the user said he still couldn’t get it to work, and the only suggestion given was to flush the browser cache (duh!).

Any help? BTW, I’ve also tried 2.8.1 beta 1 – 2.8.1 beta 2 – 2.8.1 nightly ……none work, so I doubt the WP devs are aware of this.
