In reply to: [WooCommerce PayPal Payments] ConfusedThank you for the reply. I was notified through the plug in page that PayPal Payment is being stopped as of March 1 and I had to go to PayPal Card Processing. So you see my confusion.
Sorry to not understand ANYTHING to do with woocommerce. Their how-to guides are dreadful and assume the user is some sort of expert.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce: featured slides don't work…and many more…Fixed it. If you select a static page as your main page in Settings–>Reading, instead of Your Latest Posts, you lose the slider. Simple solution.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] [Plugin: WooCommerce] Slider not working on WootiqueI know I am using a free theme and a free plugin to get my sale site operational, but is there any way for you, mikejolley, to assist me in making the theme that woo commerce created work?
It would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,

In reply to: [WooCommerce] [Plugin: WooCommerce] Slider not working on WootiqueOne question—-you say to change the settings to activate the slider. What settings are you referring to? The pages section of Wootique offer me either a slider or a static display of featured products. There really isn’t an on/off switch for the slider. Correct? Or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] [Plugin: WooCommerce] Slider not working on WootiqueI did the theme update, downloaded it, and re-installed.
I changed the settings to activate the slider.
I changed woo commerce_product for WC_Product at the Index.php.
Is it my browser?

In reply to: [WooCommerce] [Plugin: WooCommerce] Slider not working on WootiqueI have tried to look at the source code for the demo site and compare it to mine, and the difference is that the demo calls forth this:
<div id="featured-products" class="fp-slider"> <h2>Featured Products</h2> <ul class="featured-products"> <li class="flipper">
and mine does not, even though I have the slider selected.
In addition, with a blank home page, there is no slider called forth either. I have manually inserted short codes to get the featured products to show.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, BTW, I set up a fresh install and the same problem happens. I am using Powweb as my server.

In reply to: Converting Static Site to WP with Blog IntegrationThank you all. I have had success in creating the main multisite in the root and having the home page be as it was. Now I will transfer the site, using the HTML import plugin that Andrea linked to.
One question: I created the static site with Dreamweaver, and I see in the plugin it gives me the option of clicking that. But then I have to enter the name of editable region. Can I import the site that was created in Dreamweaver without clicking on Dreamweaver?
I guess it is time to experiment. And read the instructions again!

In reply to: Multisite with godaddy. Subdomain setup without wildcardI read on GoDaddy that they do not support subdomains with multisite.
https://help.godaddy.com/article/6143Call GoDaddy. They are very eager to help.
I am new to multisites so my understanding is limited. But I am learning!

In reply to: Converting Static Site to WP with Blog IntegrationDo you mean by doing this?
“Install WordPress in the root of this domain.
Immediately copy the Index.html to the WP Theme (whichever theme you are using) folder, and rename it Home.php
At this point, your site will look to the world just like it always did. WordPress will automatically use the home.php page as the default, and now you can go about putting it all together. You should have no broken links or any worries about redirects.”Then work on porting each page to WP?
I have WP installed at a subdirectory blog. When I install WP at root, am I not creating another set of tables? If so, do I export the old blog and import it to the new root WP install? Then get rid of the old database so I can implement mutisite?

In reply to: Converting Static Site to WP with Blog IntegrationThank you Ipstenu!
I did forget to mention that I have a forum as well in a subdomain of my main site that is still static. So the blog and the forum are separate folders in the root.
I was thinking of turning the existing static into a wordpress site, as you recommend. It is a big site, so it will take quite some time to transfer it, page by page. I saw a vid on how to do this and wpqueen said that I could do it by first uploading WP to a file in the root, calling it say “test1” and do the transferring behind the scenes, then move it to root when it is ready.
So when I do this, can I set up another wordpress site, thus having two databases (well, three if you count the forum)? If so, will this foul me up when I do the integration?
