In reply to: [OWM Weather] Setting Card 1 (or any display) to 100% WidthHello, Uwe —
Thank you for your rapid reply and kind assistance. I added that, cleared the cache, and reloaded the page. No change. I wonder if my theme is being stubborn? I know nothing about CSS, but I have seen that some code snippets include “IMPORTANT” as a way of forcing the new styles to take effect. Could this be one of those situations?
Again, thank you so much for your time and attention!

Wow. That solved the problem right before my eyes in real time. Thank you! Sigh. I guess this is the sign that I need to learn about 200% more CSS than I know. Just enough NOT to be dangerous. ; )
Have a great week!

Thanks for the reply! Very kind of you, since it’s not an issue with your code.
I get this error message:
`Don’t Panic
The code snippet you are trying to save produced a fatal error on line 2:syntax error, unexpected ‘:’
The previous version of the snippet is unchanged, and the rest of this site should be functioning normally as before. Please use the back button in your browser to return to the previous page and try to fix the code error. If you prefer, you can close this page and discard the changes you just made. No changes will be made to this site.`
I’ve searched around for possible syntax issues, but don’t see any solutions. Do you see anything that could be causing this message?
Thank you!
J.
Yeah, I just started having the same issue. Has been working fine for a couple/few weeks since I installed. Perhaps FB has decided to close off access?

In reply to: [WP Voting Contest Lite] Hide submission form in gallery and rules tab?Hello again, Mr. Vincik!
I looked again (and again) and found the “Default State of Entry Form” option, so sorry to trouble you. That setting might be a little closer to the top of the page, since it’s a higher priority bit of functionality that some of the other settings listed. Just a thought!
Thank you again for an awesome plug-in, and here’s to hoping that enough people use it on my site that I can afford to upgrade!

In reply to: [Publish To Apple News] API: NOT_FOUND Error after article deletionThanks, Kevin!
Great plugin. The upgrade to discovery that Publish to Apple News provides levels the playing field for smaller organizations more than many developments these last few years.

In reply to: [Members - Membership & User Role Editor Plugin] Use Members in PagesThat would be pretty sweet. I don’t see that option either, but you might ask Justin (the developer) what he’d charge for that kind of functionality. I imagine there’s a way. Sorry that I can’t help, but your idea would be a natural evolution of the plugin.

In reply to: [Members - Membership & User Role Editor Plugin] TimeoutDid you test this by deactivating all plugins, and then just activating this one to see if you could reproduce the problem?

In reply to: [Members - Membership & User Role Editor Plugin] Client PortalHave you tried cloning a lower-permissions role and then adding just the access you’re talking about? I haven’t tried it, but I *think* that’s the value of being able to clone roles. Then, new users can be automatically assigned to the new role.
Don’t know if this is what you’re talking about, but good luck!

In reply to: [BuddyPress Activity Plus] Only admins can post linksHi, again, Kasia (@wpmudev-support2)—
I have one more clue to pass on that may help your developers:
if the subscriber unchecks the box “No Thumbnail,” the link does NOT vanish upon clicking “Add Link.” The link is, in fact posted. Without the image, that kind of makes the functionality meaningless, BUT that’s the exact difference between an administrator ability and subscriber ability—that’s right at the point it breaks.
So the issue would seem to be with the thumbnail. I’m betting that will mean something to someone smarter than I.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Activity Plus] Only admins can post linksHey again, @wpmudev-support2 —
As it happens, it actually does not fix the problem. It did for the test user I created, but not for several of the actual users. So I don’t really know what to do. It sounds to me like a database problem. I may rip the whole site down and start over. I don’t know.
Thanks for trying.

In reply to: [BuddyPress Activity Plus] Only admins can post linksOkay, so @wpmudev-support2 and @wpmudev-support9—
I should have said before that I was using the theme, Nirvana.
In any case, I decided to just take the plunge and insert that snippet of code in to the functions.php file. The short answer, is that yes, it works. YAY! THANK YOU! Interestingly, however, the linked feature image displays on clicking “Add Link,” but if the image file size is large, the preview image is blacked out. Doesn’t matter to me as long as people take an extra two seconds to figure it out.
NOW, the question is, because I am not using a child theme, will I need to update this file each time the theme is updated? Any other concerns you’d have?
Again, THANK YOU!
