Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WP2.2 PHP5 MySQL5 Windows 2003You’re right sunburnkamel I am no well versed in locking down our server. I guess I should have rephrased my question better. I do plan on still hosting it through Bluehost but I wanted to install (maybe “host” was not a good choice of word) wordpress on our server so that we could have a duplicate installation and I can tinker with the site without having to mess up my main hosted installation.
Thanks to the reference to XAMPP that should help out alot. So I take it from there it should be pretty straight forward?

In reply to: Theme Suggestions? In editing my 3 column Kubrick theme I didn’t run into a message like the one you mentioned. I thought I moved things around quite as bit as well. Well I’ll try a theme out that is pretty straight forward and just start adding my own things.
I guess a good revised question would be then if anybody new of a good multi-page WP theme?

In reply to: Theme Template Browsing?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Theme Suggestions?Well this will not be on a live site. Currently there is nothing. As for editing through the theme editor what is wrong with that? I have not had any problems with it thus far with my other site but maybe I guess I’m just lucky. As for making my files “world writable” what does that mean? By making changes in position, color or adding flash and images makes my blog susceptible to hackers?
Really not trying to come off like an jerk any way ?? but would like some explanation. Thanks for commenting.

In reply to: Theme Suggestions?rudolf45, I realize it is not done in WordPress. With many varying themes I was hoping if anybody knew anything similar to it still. It doesn’t have to be exact I just want a good base to start using the theme editor without having to redo the whole structure.

In reply to: Altering my stylesheet to cope with bigger imagesCan you show us how you are using the CSS? The max-width should work fine. It is supported in IE/FF/Netscape.

In reply to: Persistent Draft PostsEasily overlooked. I personally think it should be next to the same buttons where you save and publish your posts. Glad to help though.

In reply to: Replace WP Header with Custom Flash Headerarhisstudios
From all the trials I had the flash file directory itself cannot be added via CSS. You can control the layout around the flash file via CSS though. Yes you will need to add this to the header.php file.
I did not see the code in the pastebin link you provided.

In reply to: Persistent Draft PostsWell you can view your drafts in two areas. Under the “Write” and “Manage” navigations. You will see at the very top “Your Drafts” and links to each of your drafts. Realize that there will always be one in there but if you have multiple you can select one and it will bring you to the write page. If you scroll to the bottom under “Custome Field” you will see a button that should say “Delete Post.”
I had multiple drafts also at one point ??

In reply to: my homepage is out of wackIn all honesty the reason why I have used another editor or even why the other user used it was because, it has happened to i’m sure everyone, when you click send for some reason your browser give you some error message. It happend maybe because I have been idle too long or whatever and when you go back on the browser your info is gone. So there are times even for myself where I will type it in notepad then copy it over.

In reply to: my homepage is out of wackGood to know. It has only been really one user who did this. I’ll wait and see if this continues and just ask the users if they prefer to have it this way. It seems the majority use the built in editor. Thank you.
