Because I totally wrecked the older version, I did a clean install. I’ll be honest with you .. it’s because of my host that I had to install the new version .. they did something to the server back in December .. messed up my tinymce and the only way I was going to get it back was to upgrade .. since then .. just been one problem after another. May end up moving the entire site to another host … in the meantime .. this company wants my wordpress shut down. Starting to delete most of the files now .. really too bad too .. I was picked up by a few reputable sites … this just isn’t very good for my reputation and notability .. site is up and down like a yo yo .. even on the best of days .. host plays a bit too much with websites. Till I am able to migrate … I’ll be putting my pages back up in html version.

I am guessing I am on share but they say all the calls to the pages are coming from my wordpress. My main site does not seem to be in the equation although last night they pulled my entire site off line. They claimed it was looping although they could not pin point what the problem is. They did say that there was no viruses nor could they find any malicious scripts. I almost forgot … they are saying bandwidth.

Sorry for late reply .. I didn’t delete anything as I was expecting an overwrite. Not worried about that now .. I have added the content manually .. I renamed the old file (copyright material) but now I have a very big problem .. posted over at troubleshooting … seems the new wp version is eating bandwidth according to the hosting people.

Diane, I don’t know much about the database as my web partner just gave me the password to get into it. I backed it up as soon as I got into it and would like to retrieve most of the information. There was a lot of files not to mention the copyrighted material. Although I have loaded a new wordpress into the server, I renamed the old file and would like to repair it and keep it for a back up. Do you have any links that might help me learn more about the database and how to navigate it properly?

jdembowski, thank you very much. Unfortunately .. the database was not backed up. I am going to try to install the newest version of WP and see if importing the content from the 2.0.4 can be installed into it. If that don’t work, I guess I will have no other choice but to manually input the articles … many articles. I have never installed wordpress before … may end up back here looking for help. ??

Would there be a plug in we need? If I change the admin file … would there be any problems with access and passwords? lol, I really want my wysiwyg editor back. ?? This one won’t accept quite a few of the codes I put in … it sucks.
