Problem solved. We found out on another Web site that someone tried deleting the ‘themes’ folder and creating a new one and that fixed the problem for them. I tried it and re-uploaded my theme and it worked for me, too.

I hope I’m not breaking any rules by bumping this topic to the top, but I really need help with this ASAP.

I’ve been using this same theme (the one in the spring09 folder) since I created it earlier this year and I’ve never had a problem with it until now.

In wp-content/themes I have:
ChinesePeach
classic
default
spring09

Um, there are tons of files in wp-content/themes/default. Why do you want me to list all of them? I haven’t changed any of them.

I tried it, but it didn’t activate the default theme; it just didn’t display the Web site and I still got the error.

Btw, here’s line 387 in the code:

while ( ($subfile = $template_subdir->read()) !== false ) {

All right. I will do that next time. My Web host still has cPanel 10 instead of the latest version, so I’m thinking that it was probably cPanel. Just one more reason to change Web hosts….

Okay, so I replaced the old wp-admin and wp-includes with the new. I didn’t upload the files individually, but in a zip, of course.

But what do you mean by the root WordPress directory? I did this the way I have always done it…

I don’t think it is…but whatever. If someone can’t give me an answer then I’m rather miffed. I don’t want to have to start over every time I upgrade….

Okay, after nearly pulling my hair out, I decided to start with a new installation of wp2.7 and just import all of my info and plug-ins manually. But I would still like to know what was going on so that I know for future reference. ;o)

I always upgrade manually, so the auto thing is not an issue. I will update index.php and see if that fixes it.

Edit: I went in and looked at the files and I am not sure which index.php you meant…

Wouldn’t you know that as soon as I get this posted, I figure out the problem. ^^ So this is resolved.
