In reply to: [Plugin: Contact Form 7] Modal Box ProblemI was just trying to have the email form display in a modal box. I’m thinking I will just skip the plugin and code my own. That way I can do what I want with out much issue.

In reply to: My First WordPress Site (Moved from Joomla)I am looking at stats of how long it take to generate a given page. Basically, it’s the time between a client requesting a page and the beginning of that page being delivered to the client. My times using Joomla were around 1 second. My times using WordPress are around .4 seconds. The sites were relatively the same in complexity and size.

In reply to: [Plugin: Contact Form 7] ReCaptcha?I vote for reCaptcha as well. I already have the reCaptcha plugin install for comments, so if Contact Form 7 would use this, it would be great.

In reply to: My First WordPress Site (Moved from Joomla)I’ve been using Joomla for several years. I started with WordPress on the recommendation of a college. I started with toying with the basic setup and management in a virtual machine for a week or two. I then installed a copy on my development server. I replicated my current setup from Joomla in WordPress. I then did some performance testing. This took another couple of weeks. Once I was comfortable with WordPress structure, themes, etc (customization in PHP), I move the dev site to live and cleaned up a few things.
All in all, from initial testing to go live was about 1 month. Preliminary live results show a decrease in request response time of around 50%. So far, I’ve been pretty happy with the switch.

In reply to: Anyone using 2.7 and Godaddy and site runs slow after upgrade? Not that it helps, but I have two WordPress 2.7.1 sites running on a GoDaddy hosted virtual private server. Performance is great on both sites. There are about 8 other sites (non-Wordpress) running on this server as well.
