In reply to: [BulletProof Security] BPS hides BuddyPress activities in private groupsThanks for your reply!
Your answer reflects my understanding of what BPS does, which is why I was baffled by the unexpected outcome.
The old thread seems to have kind of the opposite problem, hidden content is shown when it should not be.
My BP settings are fine. The site has been live for 9 months with some hundreds daily users.
Quite possibly the error stems from something else that just occurred at the time I worked with BPS.
I’m marking this thread as resolved even though the error persists as I don’t think that BPS is the cause. If I find out the contrary i will reopen it.
Cheers

In reply to: Clean up of one hacked siteIn your database you have a table called yourprefix_options. That is the table I refer to.
In the table there is a field called widget_text. Apart from the blogname field, that is where I found altered content.

A fresh install of WP is one way to go. I checked for recent file modifications. After that, as noted above, I updated WP.The attack appears to have been an SQL-injection.
@stabiasport
Do also check widget_text in your _options table. To prevent it from happening you could use the advice about
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Hardening_WordPress
and perhaps install a security plugin such as (just one example)

or

Mort3nHi @aitpro
Recently installed BPS on an intranet-type site. Site setup is WP 3.4.2, BP 1.6.1 and a range of plugins.
I experienced the exact error dealt with in this thread the first time I posted a new reply in an existing forum topic after installing BPS.
Further testing has not resulted in this error reoccuring.
I have tested new topic, new reply, different users, different user roles.
I do use a cache plugin W3TC combined with a CDN. Since the error only occured immediately after activating BPS I find it likely to be a caching issue.
If error reoccurs I’ll open a new thread.
Cheers
Mort3nPS. I have the same permalink setup as sweetmelody. Likewise my comments have ?#post- rather than comment, but it works nonetheless.
