This is happening to me too. I checked that I am running PHP version 7.0.33 form my hosts control panel.

I too do not see any mention of Events Calendar in my WordPress Admin page, other than the message that The Events Calendar requires PHP 5.6 or higher.

This is weird, and I may be getting off topic here, but when I go to https://11thfloor.net/ it looks different from https://www.11thfloor.net/.

Is it that way for you, moshu?

whooami, The index.php file in my wordpress root folder is not my themes index.php. This file does contain the code you posted.

jabecker, Yes, I do have comments turned on.

moshu, I downloaded wordpress v2.2, and uploaded the default theme to my theme directory. This has the comment.php file in it, as well as my theme.

When I said I had my index.php file in my root directory, I meant my /public_html/ directory. I did this a while ago, and not sure why. You are saying this is not correct?

OK, I was using an unaltered copy of the default theme, but I was still using my old index.php file. I placed the default theme’s index.php in my root directory and thats what you see now. Comments still dont work.

To create my theme I took the default, and modified it and changed the CSS and did this and did that. Did I do something I shouldn’t have here? Can you take your blog and change the theme to default and it still look correct? BTW, no, I didn’t use the wysiwyg.

I do have <?php comments_template(); ?> in my single.php. And yes I have tried disabling all plugins. No comments still.

OK, I have the comments.php file in my theme folder. Why is this not working?

But regarding my comments, I do have the call to the comments_template(); function in my single.php. i dont think this is being called though, because I edited, by removing the sidebar, but it was still in there. What file is it calling?

Just wanted to mention that I tried the other themes (Default and Classic), and neither of them worked.

I dont recall comments ever working for me…

OK, I did that. But a theme is still selected in the Presentation section of the dashboard. Will this affect anything?

Can I keep all of my files in the root directory?

And my CSS styles do no follow thru for the comments page.
