I’d like to know if this is possible also. I have a case where I need to use a custom template to accommodate another plugin for a calendar, but I’d like to assign it a custom sidebar, so calling it directly in a template would be useful.

Oh, that’s too bad.

How about just multiple fields in the single widget? Would that work?

Actually, it looks like they’ve recently added the ability to use image links:

type: Boolean
default: false

Setting this to true will open any image links in a new window. You can add image links using the longdesc attribute (default) or customize it using data_config

Any possibility of an update to take advantage of this? i.e. having the plugin use the image link in the longdesc attribute somehow?

Thanks for the reply, it seems the error is being thrown because all the Categories and Tags in the system somehow disappeared. I’m having the host to a database restore now. Have you ever checked how your plugin reacts to the lack of categories? It seems to throw that error in such a case.

Just had a client’s site totally break due to an error in 3.2.1. Tried removing and reinstalling the latest and get the same thing:

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array in /home/compute/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/extended-categories-widget/2.8/class/avh-ec.category-group.php on line 134

Is this a new problem, or some known incompatibility? Site’s running WP 2.9.2

Ah, that does seem to be my problem as well. I’m using the “Domain Mirror” plugin to feed a blog to three domains ( have not yet migrated to 3.0 on this one ), and access the admins via separate URLS so that the editor visually matches the site.

It works fine from the main domain, but the other two have it busted. Hope you can find a fix!

This is a real problem, as I often only display subpages in particular case, so my menus disappeared entirely. Hope it get’s fixed soon.
