We are seeing the same issue on our website. The log lists each email twice, but SendGrid only sends one email.
In the log, one of the emails has a full session transcript with the entire conversation with the mail server, the duplicate copy has a blank session transcript except for a SendGrid URL.
This started happening after we received the wp_mail conflict message and switched to PHPMailer.
