In reply to: Feedburner issues!Oh Lord! I forgot! https://www.buellreview.com
I had a fatal error and was handing out 404 errors “page not found” so I had to start all over with a fresh copy of wordpress. My host was unable to figure out the problem and everything offered in “Changing your site URL” here on WordPress didn’t cure my problem. I tried everything with my host tech support.
However, I was still having Feedburner issues getting it to work. If others have had issues I should be aware of, I appreciate the info1 Thanks all!

In reply to: Broken websiteEverything else but “Subscribe to my blog” seems to be working as it should. this would explain why I’m also having trouble with Feedburner subscriptions. Is the directory error something I need to deal with at my host or wordpress?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Broken websiteOK, I went back to my host and changed the site URL back to the original directory as explained in the above post. My issue is now that when I test getting email subscriptions to my blog for myself, my email shows up wanting me to confirm my subscription to https://buellreview.com/testing123/ instead of https://buellreview.com/.
Meaning email subscriptions are somehow still in the deleted unused directory. How do I change the /testing123/ directory back to my default since that directory was deleted at my host through PhpMyAdmin?

In reply to: WordPress widgetsOk. there is a conflict between the “Left” widget and “Footer Left” widget when trying to place ads there. I get the header from the left ad displaying in the content of the “Footer Left” ad or widget box. This seems to be what was happening when IE froze and crashed and had to recover and reload. Only what I was trying to do was put two different things on the right, but in the “Footer Right” and “Bottom Footer Right” Like something cannot tell the difference! I think we found the issue and I’m glad for your help!
Bigger question now, can I copy my content and move it to the /123 area into my host’s “xxxxxxxxx/wp-2” and eliminate the corrupted “xxxxxxxxx/wp-1” file without losing my search ranking, losing readers and generally pissing off the search engines? And still remain on the web as https://www.buellreview.com ??

In reply to: WordPress widgetsWow! Everything in Fire Fox moves smoking fast with no error messages! Woot! Ok, one question because now I think this had something to do with my problem. It concerned Amazon ads. While trying to place an ad in the 300 x 250 column, I had to contact customer support with what the “Banner URL” and “Target URL” difference was and the HTML they gave me caused problems. The ads I’m running now I put in with the “Arbitrary text or HTML” widget and they didn’t have issues.

In reply to: WordPress widgetsOk. Jetpack will remain off. I opened FireFox in another window. I like FireFox and Opera. I’ve never had crash or instability problems with those. You know, you just jogged my memory too! I was working in the main sidebar sectionwhen IE crashed and everything froze and had to recover the webpage!

In reply to: WordPress widgetsOh, there was one thing I did modify via PhpMyAdmin. I made a spelling error is a widget and I had to go there and correct the error there because I didn’t have a sidebar if that helps. I found the widget searching line by line until I came across it with the spelling error in the title.
I opened “Edit”, Corrected the spelling error, then closed and got out of there.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WordPress widgetsOk. here you go. Jetpack is off. No building anything other than what I put up here for you to see and no plugins installed, nothing touched in PhpMyAdmin.

Have to admit this is rather unorthodox, but it is working! I’m glad that having issues means I get lucky enough to work with the format developer! I can’t think of anything you wouldn’t know about the program you wrote! Could Internet Explorer have caused unforeseen problems if it froze and was forced to recover the webpage while I was working?

In reply to: WordPress widgetsI am willing to clear my site from my host and start over and give it another shot, but what will that do to me with the search engines?
How hard will that nail me in rankings? My site has only been up for few days and only has 72 hits so far from unique visitors. It would seem that if this is necessary, then the earlier the better, right?
I’m not going around messing under the hood if I’m not real clear about what is going on in there. That’s why I followed instructions in PhpMyAdmin and only shut down my plugins, with help, once I realized I had a problem! See, When my main sidebar went down after my site going live, I thought this might be normal. It wasn’t until HipHopInEnglish pointed out this was an error that I realized I had a major problem. I also built this using Internet Explorer which froze a couple of times forcing me to restart the browser. I should have known better and used FireFox, My BAD!
