I don’t think WordPress is causing you to see the name and email address, it sounds like your web browser is caching the info. Try clearing your cookies and cache and also try using a different web browser or computer to see if the info is visible to other users which is highly unlikely.

From my experience when creating membership sites you will need to either create a custom theme, or use a downloaded theme and create custom pages and queries to display the data in a fashion that suites your site. Most WordPress themes are designed with blogging in mind.

If you are still having a problem can you provide a link to your site?

What is the URL for your site and are you looking to modify your current theme or just find one with left navigation?

The plugin that cause issues with my 3.0 configuration was User Messages. After disabling that plugin my static page settings began working again. I am using the older free version available here, the updated commercial version works in 3.0.

I didn’t want to believe it but it was a plugin, now the hunt to find the culprit.

Did you remove <?php comments_template(); ?> from your template files?

This is how I have achieved what I think you are asking for.

You create a the category for example news, then you obviously put every news post in the news category. Then you can simply link to the news slug (https://yoursite.com/cateory/news) in your site navigation.

Or

You can create a page in WordPress called news then create a page template that queries the news category.

After a quick look using Firebug it appears the style below is pushing the image to right.

When you using template tags you have to create a template php file and assign that template file to your page in WordPress.

You cannot drop template code into WordPress post or pages.

You can delete the old account and during the delete process you will be prompted to move the post to a new user. Or you can change the email address of their admin account to a different email and put the correct email address in for the site admin.

After you try to publish a new post can you click edit to see what the post status is? Is it draft, published or pending review?

Using FireFox 3.5.6 on Mac OS X 10.5 and IE 8 on Windows XP they both look the same except the second link has a longer sub title. Are you still having problems in IE?
