I can see your admin login page just fine. I just added wp-admin at the end of your domain after the /.

From the looks of the source, your Pages is a widget. If that’s true you can change it inside the admin section after you login. Click ‘appearance’ then ‘widgets’ and you’ll see the widgets you have set up going down the right side of the screen. Open the one that say Pages and remove the title from there. That’s assuming you still want to show the pages and not the word pages.

Personally I use cForms and it works well with 2.7.1. You can see it here.

sorry about that Clayton… I still had the post as a draft – DOH! posted now.

BTW, I don’t want to hijack this topic but it sounded to me to be the same issue with the text wrapping.

Binary is a transfer setting on your ftp. Usually it’s set to ‘auotomatic’ and sometimes it’s necessary to set a transfer up as binary. But truth be told I don’t think I’ve ever changed the setting when I’ve upgraded my blogs.

Another thing I have learned is to ‘delete’ the wp-admin and wp-includes directories instead of just over writing them. The other files I simply overwrite them.

Try actually deleting the wp-admin and wp-includes directory and upload a new pair. Then run the upgrade again.

    …worth a shot.

Clayton, I have the same problem, see post, and the test still wraps around the image.

A link to your blog would be very helpful

It’s happened to me before and for the life of me I can’t remember what I did to fix it. A couple of things come to mind though

~Did you overwrite the original config.php file? If so then you will need to re make the new one.
~Did you run the upgrade.php to update your database yet?
~Did you upload all the correct directories/files in Binary mode? Sometimes that makes a difference.
~Did you back up your database… just in case? Probably won’t need it but always a good idea.

To the right of the post box you’ll see a dialog box titled “Publish.” Just above the ‘publish’ button on the bottom you’ll see a calendar icon and next to it the words ‘publish immediately edit.’ Click the ‘edit’ link and you can change the date and time of the post. Then click ‘ok.’ Then when you’re finished making your post click ‘publish’ and you’re done. The post is scheduled for when ever you set it to.

Is this something I need to change in the css of the theme or something within the WP script?

    or

    Am I simply S.O.L.?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve checked wp-includes>version.php and the version does say 2.5.1. I checked it both on my site and the download to be sure they both were right. Maybe this has something to do with the latest WordPress exploits and I haven’t found all the crap that was added to my site.

Samgreen – Search is our friend I agree but there doesn’t seem to be an answer on any search so far, but thanks so much for the direction.

Is this a new install or an upgrade?

I upgraded and got a blank screen also. It was caused by a plugin that wasn’t working right with the new version. Via an ftp client I removed the older plugin folder, saved it on my computer, and uploaded the newer basic folder that came with the upgrade. Everything is working great now.

I had a similar problem and found it was a plugin issue. I removed the whole plugin folder associated with the previous version (via ftp) and uploaded the basic plugin folder that came with the new version and all worked fine. You can add them back one at a time to see which one is the culprit.

I’m getting “server not found.” But I had a similar problem with my upgrade and found it was a plugin issue. I removed the plugin folder associated with my previous version via ftp (saved it on my computer). Then uploaded the basic plugin folder that came with the new version and everything worked out fine. Then I added the old plugins one at a time to see which one wasn’t working.

    Good luck

I also found that I couldn’t add categories with version 2.1.3. In another thread post someone suggested trying to access the admin section by going to https://mysite.com/wp-admin/ instead of https://mysite.com/wp-login. This method worked for me. This seems like something that needs to be addressed from WP in a later release.

    To answer you questions –

First – I really don’t think there’s any risk in NOT using www in the url. I don’t include www in any of my urls.
Second – You may want to check under the Options menu that the “WordPress Address” and the “Blog Address” are the same with respect to using www or not. If you have the blog in a sub folder… yoursite.com/blog/ that should be fine.

    Good luck

Well – I resolved my problem.

I went into my ftp and deleted the “technotags.php plugin to see if I would have access to the admin section. It worked.

I then looked at the plugin and saw a space after each and every line and the original plugin had no such spaces. Well, I took out all the spaces and reloaded the plugin and now all is working perfectly.

I didn’t think the spaces would make a differences nor do I actually know how they came to be in the first place. In any case it’s fixed.

JIRIK – I don’t know if that helps with your problem or not… I hope so.
