In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Canonical and 301 RedirectsJust as an update, it was in my header. I removed:
<link rel="canonical" href="https://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/"/>
from my header. Problem solved. I think.
Thank you again.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Canonical and 301 RedirectsThank you for responding, MariusG! I do have free Yoast and the another plugin called redirection. I apologize, I thought the redirection was under yoast. I may need to reach out to the redirection plugin support, but just thought I would ask first if you could tell if I need to enter my URL into the Canonical URL field in yoast as well as having the 301 redirect set up?
Here is an examplle of a link on my compnay site redirected from
‘https://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/2012-what-a-year-for-philadelphia-workers-comp-law-firm-pearson-koutcher-llp/’But, this is coming up as a canonical error. Do I need to put ‘https://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/workers-compensation-blog/2012-what-a-year-for-philadelphia-workers-comp-law-firm-pearson-koutcher-llp/’ in the Canonical URL field in Yoast?
Thank you for your help.

In reply to: Menu PHPThank you for getting back to me. I just am a little confused because when I go to Appearance > Menus and add/remove menu items, nothing happens. The only way I am able to remove items from my menu is to go to appearance > Editor > Header and remove items from there. Why is that?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Mobile ThemeGreat, thank you for letting me know. I just have another question and I apologize if it is a dumb question, I am new at this, but can you tell me how to add an extra style sheet to affect the mobile theme only or is the little custom css that I added inline what you are referring to as an extra style sheet. I am just still a little unclear how this all comes together?
Thank you for your time.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Mobile ThemeI have now figured out that I need to use .mobile-theme in the custom css that comes with the jetpack plugin to apply changes to my mobile theme. However, I am concerned about all the css using this plugin’s custom css template puts in my source code. Is this going to affect my SEO? Please advise.
Thanks,
Megan

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Mobile ThemeI want to add that I also tried deactivating custom css in the settings of the jetpack pluggin to see if that was affecting my css and that did not work.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] HeaderThank you. This is very healpful. My theme does not support custom themes. I have been trying to work this out and I don’t really understand how to proceed.
I tried adding the .mobile-theme to my header like this:
<div class="mobile-theme"> <div id="headcontainer"> <div id="header" class="container"> <img src="https://www.pearsonkoutcherlaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/header.jpg" alt="header.jpg" width="994" height="123" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-583" /> </div></div> </div> <div>
and have tried selecting mobile compatible on my style sheet and adding to my css:
.custom #header { background: url(images/wp-content_uploads_2013_05_header.jpg) no-repeat; height: 123px; width: 994px; }
I have played around with this a bunch have tried a bunch of different combinations. Can you please help point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Megan
