In reply to: [Ryu] Changing headline fontHey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I know can change fonts in themes ?? But I usually do it through the CSS file and change say Arial to Garamond or something. I just don’t have any experience with Google Fonts. I did do some research around those plug-ins, but I’m worried they might be a bit buggy (based on some of the forum posts.)
I take it, then, that there’s no built-in way to do change Google Fonts in this theme. I’d either have to add the functionality somehow or use a plug-in?

In reply to: [Book Lite] Responsive header?Awesome — thank you!

In reply to: [Book Lite] Responsive header? No worries! Still, the setting the size could work for the header I’m thinking of. I’ll just have to dive in. Where in the CS did you set that size? In the header section?

In reply to: [Book Lite] Responsive header? That big waterfall image. Isn’t that the header image? It shows up on all the pages.

In reply to: [Book Lite] Responsive header?Chrome in Android. But that screenshot shows what I’m seeing, too. I was talking about the header image, btw — sorry I didn’t make it clear in my first post. At any rate, here you’re not seeing the entire image. You can test it out on the demo:

If you shrink your browser window you’ll see how everything conforms to the lower resolutions as you make the window narrower, except the header, which just gets cropped.
People have varying minimum requirements for responsive, though. Here’s an example of a true responsive header:

I think part of the issue here is that Book Lite’s header image is ginormous, so might have caused problems if the developer had made it responsive. I was planning on reducing the size of that masthead for a more normal header image. But I would need the header image to shrink for smaller resolutions.
The image isn’t being responsive; it

In reply to: [Book Lite] Responsive header? No, I was checking the demo out on mobile to see how it looked, and I could see that the header wasn’t shrinking; the image gets cut off on both sides.
Are you using this theme and is your header responsive? I really like Book Lite and my site needs a refresh, but I would definitely want the header to shrink to look right and to keep on brand on mobile.

In reply to: Edit box has gotten enormously long and setting for it is gone.Dude, you should totally get a cookie! For both your industriousness and for the workaround. So, two cookies, actually.
The fix worked. Thanks for delving into this.

In reply to: Edit box has gotten enormously long and setting for it is gone.Well, the edit box is always had that ability. And I doubt that they defaulted it to a million lines long, so something’s amiss. I did try resizing it using the handle, but it didn’t seem to take. When going back to edit, the box reverted to being really long.

In reply to: Theme causing problems with admin?Esmi, you have no idea how many months I’ve been trying to figure this out and futzing with the db and trying out all sorts of things. Although it didn’t turn out to be a Javascript issue, your suggestion made me go through all the files, one by one. It turned out I had dropped something into the functions.php file ages ago that had to do with custom css in the editor. Once I took that out everything went back to normal. So thanks for motivating me to look through everything.
And although a database refresh (a pain, by the way, if you have a lot of settings) wasn’t entirely necessary, it did fix a few other weird things.

In reply to: Need help to rebuild databaseSo true. I didn’t do it that way because I was worried about. But I also didn’t actually delete all the tables, just the core WP ones. I kept some of the third-party plug-in tables in order to keep some of the settings — which actually didn’t work. The fact that my install is _still_ showing problems is making me think the problems lie with those tables. I think I need to delete _all_ the tables and try it again.
