If your theme is widget-ready, then all you need to do is go to Widgets under Presentation (I think that’s where it is for v2.5.1). You can remove the widgets that you don’t want and add new ones.

If your theme is not widget-ready, then you will need to edit the sidebar.php (or left_sidebar.php/right_sidebar.php) file that is included in your theme folder.

Are these widgets relying on plugins that perhaps aren’t activated on the new site?

You can use the Color Palette in Google Adsense setup so it matches your theme. It also allows you to save the color palette for future use.

I also wish this could be resolved. I hate to remove the plugin because it doesn’t validate. ??
