I’m having this exact issue. It’s a shame no one has responded.

In reply to: [Sela] Widen Theme and Content AreasAlso, I’d like to shift the sidebar over to the right by about 100 pixels, thanks.

In reply to: [Sela] Widen Theme and Content AreasOk This has worked to widen the content areas, but as you’ll see, I need more space between the sidebar and the main content area on the homepage and all post pages, and I need to shift the main content area over to the left by about 200-250 pixels. Then I think it will be perfect. Thank you. My site is at https://mslake.me

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleOMG, this is time I’ve seen that, LMAO. I am so sorry. But yes, please I’d like a plain rectangle because I often use text in my images. Wow. I’m so sorry about this.
BTW my site looks exactly how I want it to in Microsoft Edge browser. Full-width, spacious and beautiful. It’s like another planet, so you are right about Chrome.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleOkay so I updated Chrome to the latest verson, and no change. So I uploaded a screenshot to my blog here: https://mslake.me/featured-image-weirdness/
the password is techstuff
In the meantime I’ll check in another browser

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleI wish I could upload a screenshot of what I’m seeing. I have the latest version of Chrome. Just to make sure I tested the featured image in another post and got the same result. The image goes to the top of the page but the bottom is overlapped by the headline. I’m moving around some plugins that may be affecting the layout to see what happens. Now the image is flush to the left edge of the post (if only the text would go that way as well, lol) but is still overlapped at the bottom edge by the headline. I will go through all my plugins until I figure it out.

In reply to: [Sela] Cannot Change Date PlacementI know I’ve read your warning about this before. I just played with that piece of code to see if it would work. I have the jetpack plugin installed but have no idea how to use it — I can’t just put code there and save it to make changes because I just tried that and messed up my site. So I deleted the changes and am back to square one. I can figure out how to use it but I was trying to save time.
Thanks for trying to help. I’ll figure out the CSS editor and try to make the changes that way.

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleHi Kathryn, thanks for your detailed responses about adjusting the width of the theme.
In the meantime, the featured image problem is still happening. The title overlaps the featured image or vice-versa. I cleared my cache so that’s not the problem. The page I linked to before
https://mslake.me/best-game-of-thrones-websites/
shows it plainly. I have no customized code in the theme now because I reinstalled from scratch.

In reply to: [Sela] Cannot Change Date PlacementHi sorry I took so long but was working on other things. I’m not sure where to put this code. I tried inserting after the entry meta:
.entry-meta {
font-family: “Droid Serif”, Georgia, serif;
font-size: 12px;
font-size: 1.2rem;
font-style: italic;
margin-bottom: 1em;
text-align: right;but it didn’t work. Then I tried inserting under the entry title code
}
.entry-title {
line-height: 1.7;
}Which didn’t work either. Can you clarify where I insert the code? Thank you.

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleHi I just wanted to let you know that I fixed the css code that you mentioned but the headline is still over-lapping the featured image on this page.
https://mslake.me/best-game-of-thrones-websites/
so I’m not sure what is going on.

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleOk I understand. I just removed all my CSS edits to start from scratch again. The theme is back to its orginal parameters.
I need is to extend the main content area to the left. On the home page I have about 2 inches of white space on the left, and on the post pages it’s about three inches, which makes the content area much too narrow.Thank you.

In reply to: [Sela] Post Featured Image overlaps TitleI removed the featured image because I don’t want my site to look wonky. I have set a featured image in this post
https://mslake.me/best-game-of-thrones-websites/
so that you can see what’s happening. The top of the image also cuts off, which I hadn’t noticed before.
The right-click protection is disabled.
Thank you.
