There might be a solution or workaround. Okay.
Soooo…….what is it then, which was the entire point of the question.
This is a wordpress plugin >>> support <<< forum. How about providing a solution to the problem if there is one. Thanks.

I installed it without the demo content or the theme to see how it works on what I already have.
Is there a way to add additional categories and is there a way to add them in bulk so I don’t have to add them one item at a time? I do not have the time for all that. I use PODS and Bulk Express so that usually lets me upload the categories or taxonomies list in bulk.
I tried it but nothing shows up in the form itself so…if I have a restaurant directory and want Cuisine types, I’m not about to sit there and add one category at a time, add new: BBQ, add new: Italian, add new….nope.
If multiple members with an author role post any of these listings in their respective categories, where does the email sent from the form go? To the actual author or to the site admin email?
I added a list of locations. Initially, it allowed me to click each location and assign it to a specific directory. I deleted the default and started over. The locations are all there but there is no longer an option to assign them. No locations show up in the location drop down.

Someone asked this previously. This is the thread and their response. Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but maybe?
Is it pssible to have user role a selection option on registration form? | www.ads-software.com
All right. I think this can be resolved. After digging into it I see it was the UM Math Captcha On Registration Form plugin that is the culprit. On a fresh install, adding the plugins and extensions, it warped out when I activated the match captcha. I deactivated it, the page went back to normal.
Is there an updated version of the math captcha? If not, no worries. I use other captcha anyway so it still works otherwise.
Updated > Still doing it with a clean install for the latest version.
I’ve changed the dashboard settings > appearance > registration form to 1000px.
In the forms > registration settings, the sidebar, customize this form, max width 1000px.
No other modifications have been made. The registration page is broken. It’s not specifically the form that is squeezed, the page where the UM registration shortcode is placed gets warped. The footer and sidebar are gone. The entire page is squeezed to about 700px width and the form itself doesn’t even show up.

This is how it’s supposed to look.

So it is specifically the registration page shortcode causing the problem.
I hope this can get resolved soon.
I’ve had to scrap it and start over. If it happens again I will use a previous version that worked. Maybe the devs will stop tinkering with UM and leave it alone awhile. Every single time they update the whole thing goes off the rails.
The settings, as I noted, are all set correctly.
In the dashboard settings, under registration, it is set to 1000px. In the actual registration form, customizations is set to yes, and then 1000px is added in the fields. In the styles, it is set to 100%.
And yet, the registration form is about 700px and not full width and that is why I posted. I’m stumped. My only solution is to use the last version where it worked, but preferably I’d use the latest version and this gets resolved because it’s basic functionality.
It’s not just the form. It’s broken the entire page. The footer is gone, the header is skewed. There is no side bar….it’s wrecked the page and squeezed it to 700px. Please see the image. That’s the whole page. The lighter grey area is the page body / screen.
As noted, this isn’t a pilot error problem. I’ve used this for a year, I know what settings to set. They are set the way I’ve always set them. The updates have screwed this up so I need to track down where it was so I can undo it and fix it.
