Wow, nice! Would be great if the header picture would reflect the category. I have some recipies on my site too but not nearly as much as you do. It’s been added to my food links.

I liked the original theme a lot but yours is not bad either. Some tips for improvement: make the menu go all the way down and align the text in the ‘posted in’ box.

I added a more obvious download link at the top of the page. It’s made with a blockquote but not in the theme yet.

Actually I like the red lines (so sorry doubledubs) but I agree about the whitespace. On the other hand 99% of the visitors of my site have window width greater than 744px but only 58% greater than 968px and only 20% greater than 1096px! Turns out most people don’t have their browser maximised, which is confirmed by some research I have read.

It has some glitches in Safari too. Best would be to gather some understanding of IE glitches. This link helped me a lot: https://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer.html

Also you can find quite some info just by using google. I searched for “IE max-width” and found a solution for my problemen at the third link already. Turned out to be an article from the famous Jeffrey Zeldman ??

Hmmm. It has something nice to it but the long bullet lists in archives etc could use some styling.

Finally done! The theme’s finished, at least for now, and can be download by anyone who likes to use it. Please drop me a line if you do.

Maybe I didn’t understand. So sorry. Thought you wanted the rss validated. As for general comments:
– the site could use a header
– menu font size is a bit small
– maybe use dark grey font instead of black. Black on white is quit hard.
– use a slightly darker background for the content or the general background.
– maybe align pictures, run text around them and/or use borders with padding on them

As for validating: XHTML and RSS can easily be validated by using a validator:
