In reply to: I’m Not Obsessed!It first loads the green background and then it takes ages to load the pink background that falls over it. Until then the posts and menu are hardly readable. I would thin about changing the backgrounds technique.

I don’t really have a gallery but using the autogallery https://kyrres.net/2005/02/04/autogallery/ allows me to post pictures easily. To do is to create an archive for pics only with one thumbnail as preview.

Don’t remember where and didn’t try so I couldn’t say if that works. while I personally like a comment system better than forums I can see the use for it. Also I can see you surely did a nice job!.
As for authentication: how about doing that against a (active or open) directory? I’m sure I found a plugin for that too.
