In reply to: WP e-commerce vs eShopI think that you should use the WP e-Commerce Plugin.
You can catch a glimpse of some of the cool new things on the GetShoped blog:
https://www.getshopped.org/blogWe’ve got iPhone stuff, BuddyPress stuff, ticketing stuff, new code base in 3.8 coming out the door, awesome community of users and developers… and thats just the beginning.
We also have an ex eShop developer working in our office who prefers the WP e-Commerce Plugin UI, and funnily enough that was enough for him to choose the WP e-Commerce Plugin over eShop.
Not that I’m biased ??

In reply to: [WP eCommerce] [Plugin: WP e-Commerce] 3.7.8 broke my online storeSorry this was your experience. What version were you upgrading from?
We’re working on an awesome flashy new version (3.8 RC4 is current) and we want to make sure that other people upgrading from the version you were using can upgrade with any issues. Also there are plenty of green “resolved” threads on our forums too. There are plenty of un resolved threads here for WordPress too. We all do the best we can with the resources we have – want to speed up a support request go here:

Thanks for that. Have you got this with the upcoming version of WP e-Commerce Plugin 3.8 ?
If you email me the details I’ll post about it on our blog.

I think you should use WP e-Commerce Plugin with TikiPress.
There is no reason you’d not use WP e-Commerce because you have a small catalogue.
The new 3.8 release uses the same database for products that WordPress use for posts (Custom Post Types).
You can upload as many products as the WordPress database can handle. And I’ve seen sites with well over 100,000 products.
So should be fine. As for your other question, jump on the getshopped.org forums instead for more people floating around who actually know these things ??

In reply to: [WP eCommerce] [Plugin: WP e-Commerce] cannot make it work at allsorry to hear that – must be some kind of theme conflict or plugin conflict because 99.999999% of people don’t have issues adding products ??
See all the working sites “with” product here…

In reply to: [WP eCommerce] [Plugin: WP e-Commerce] Marketplace portalThe short answer is yes. But its something that you’d have to invest in because its not as easy as just adding a plugin here or there. For instance you will have to create a decent signup system / plugin etc…
We’ve done it on getshopped.com but we havent got around to making all the custom hacks (that we had no choice but to do) into proper WordPress Plugins.

In reply to: [WP eCommerce] [Plugin: WP e-Commerce] Can specific products be hidden? The option is there. On the left hand column – I think its a quick edit option.
This is also possible and even more intuitive in the upcoming 3.8 release that uses Custom Post Types. If you’re a daring developer you can start playing with this now… however you’ll have to find the link in the mailing list and there is no support provided to non programmers for versions of our software that are not made public yet ??
So if you’re a dev… come aboard to the greatest WordPress e-Commerce Plugin, Open Source initiative on the planet ??
