In reply to: Posts and Pages in same domainWhen someone accesses the site do they see a page or a post?
When i cite an address what should I use.
It seems to me that there needs to be some clarification to separate the two. Save the same page/post in both formats? My question was less of a matter of how to create a feed, but how to inform the untutored viewer how to arrange to collect and read such a feed.
The web site I am hoping to use (senioredge.net) is directed at retired seniors, typically over 75, who need to see a simple explanation of what is needed.
Everything I see here is for the benefit of the feed creator not the feed readerForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: All pluggins just quitThanks. I checked the host (GoDaddy) and somehow the plug in folder had disappeared/ Fortunately they could restore from their back up files which then worked. So your advice was spot on for which I thank you

In reply to: All pluggins just quitI took your advice and checked the hosting server (GoDaddy)
The folder had disappeared. Fortunately GD were able to recover from their internal backup,
I suspect that this may have been caused by another plug inThanks

In reply to: All pluggins just quitNot just disabled but apparently deleted

In reply to: All pluggins just quitWhen I tried to reload the plugins that quit, I first got a message Do you really want to of this?
Then when I proceeded, the plug in failed to load
Makes me think that the plug in is still somewhere in my files so it resists being duplicated? How can I check that? W@hat would cause that rejectionForum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: [wp-greet] AdblockSorry about that Hans. It was meant for a different topic. But Adblock did slow me down when I couldn’t see elements of wp-gret on line because I had Ad block installed. Disabling Adblock fixed that problem.
I do however have problems in using wp-greet which is obviously a great plugin
I had trouble following the procedure in your write up for Exclude, as I don’t use widgets and could not find the “file sidebar.php”
I also had trouble linking to the gallery.. When you used the term [gallery=ID] does ID refer to the URL or to the numeric identifier in the gallery. Thanks

In reply to: Divs at 33% not fitting in containerI would guess that the calculation is overflowing with repeating decimals. You should be able to define the precision as x number of decimals with either truncation or with rounding.

In reply to: Place Menus beneath header imageI am using 2012, with header text at the top of the page about five lines of text
The Menu comes below that, followed below by a Header image. The result is that on a laptop screen, the pages selected by try menu are of the bottom – accessible by scrolling of course. But the casual viewer sees no movement no apparent selection unless he scrolls down. The same problem can be seen on an iPad
My initial solution and the subject of my query is to arrange to move the Menu to appear below the picture. Thus the ideal sequence is Header Text, Header image, then MenuA different solution is to make the header image shorter (vertical dimension), so the title of the page selected by the menu can be seen by the viewer. thus prompting her to scroll down.

In reply to: Creating page linksSomething strange happened. The link appeared.
The problem may be in Safari. They (Safari) changed the procedure for deleting the cache and so I may have been seeing an unchanged cache view although I tied to reset
I switched around with Chrome.I still did not see the link that looks like a a chain link as per the codex
Thanks I am at least one step closer
