In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsIt’s me again. I just wanted to let you all know that I managed to figure it out and share my solution in case anyone else runs into similar snags.
I tried to rename my old subdomains from my Parallels Pro Control Panel – no dice. I backed up my subdomain folders for my Blogger blogs, which had been hosted on my domain. Then I deleted the subomains in Parallels Pro Control Panel.
Voilà! Suddenly, WordPress let me log in and import the posts from Blogspot. Granted, I have to fix the image links and tags, but at least the smaller blog has been successfully migrated. WordPress is happy. I can migrate, so I’m happy.
Thank you so much Ipstenu for your patience and your help!

In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsI got my webhost to restart my Apache server and that didn’t solve anything.
This seems a bit drastic, but should I delete the existing blog folders from when I moved my Blogger blogs to my own domain? Are they creating the problem? Or at least move/rename them – after backing them up yet again, of course. (They are also still live at Blogspot for the time being). Should that solve the problem from the WP end? I’m having no troubles creating new subdomains within WordPress, so I know the wildcard is set up all right.

In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsOhhhhh. Ok. I think I get it now. The existing blog folders I see are from the old Blogger blogs. Thanks.
I just double-checked what it says in my Parallels Control Panel and it says the base directory for all blogs is /var/www . Still getting that “Not Found: The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server. Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS) Server at blog.musespeak.com Port 80” message when I try to access the site through my WP dashboard.

In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsOh no! It’s just that the subdomain folders were NOT in the same folder as the WP install as you previously said they should be. I haven’t deleted anything.

In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsThanks Ipstenu. I think my web host fixed that part this morning. At least, I know they changed my CNAME settings and made sure my DNS settings are pointing to my domain.
I did copy my blog folders into the same folder as my WP install: mydomain/mainwebsite_html . However, now I get a “this is a placeholder for…..” when I type the URL in and a “Not Found: The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.” error message when I try to access the dashboard.

In reply to: WordPress Multisite Subdomain 404 errorsIpstenu, there in lies the problem. The subdomain path is one created by Parallel so there’s no “cpanel” screen that everyone refers to. It looks closer to PLESK.
There is no /public_hmtl/ folder. However, there is a mydomain/mainwebsite_html folder.
Everything seems to be held in this folder: mydomain/var/www
For example, https://blog.musespeak.com ‘s directory path is /var/www/blog
I’ll check with my web host to make sure the subdomains are pointing to where the main install is. So if I’m reading you correctly, it seems like the subdomains are still redirecting to the blogger address.
