I am having the same problem. I’ve changed passwords, replaced all files, and locked down permissions, yet still get reinfected.

I am really struggling with this one. The Blackhole exploit has infected all my addon domains at my shared hosting, as as soon as I remove it it reappears.

Even on non-Wordpress addons it now appears. I’ve tried everything above but am still being reinfected.

Has anyone managed to remove it entirely?

Yes, I checked that but as far as I can see it only applies to the post itself, not to the tags.

In any case what I want to do is to stop the tags being followed across the whole site. Robots Meta (the predecessor to this) allowed that but not this.

If you are not indexing tag pages, as this allows, then there is no point in allowing your linkjuice to flow to them.

Same here. Its a really annoying problem.

So far I have updated 10 of my blogs, and this has happened to 3 of them. It seems pretty random.

Is there an easier way of fixing it without having to go into the DB?

I followed those instructions but I still get the exact same error. “your php version is too old, please upgrade to a new version. Your version is 4.4.9. Simple Tags requires 5.0.0”. It is at https://www.chelsealatest.co.uk/

The error occurs inconsistently. For example right now it works fine for me on my home PC in Firefox and IE, but it fails via my phone, and it fails when I go via a proxy server (pingdom.com). Very odd.

10 of my websites were infected. Serious pain. It took me the best part of the day to get them cleaned, change all the passwords and disable tomthumb.

In my case it was because I was using the Suffusion theme, an older version of it, which includes tomthumb.

I never had the pop-up message asking for my password. But my wp-config files did have a whole load of extra lines added to them. Could they read my password from the wp-config file if they were able to write to it?

Yes it works perfecttly. It has been 2 days now and I have seen no more CPU problems at all since applying your changes.

I havent yet re-enabled the scheduled cron but will do that over the next day or two and monitor it carefully.

bobbyh – Many thanks for the advice, and for the great script.

I spent today updating all my sites with this, and changing the time in the options tab so that few of them run together. Now that I know how the original wpomatic ran, I am sure that that was the problem. I have large feeds and several thousand posts in the database, so its not surprising it slowed down so much.

Now I just need to monitor the CPU for a few days and see if that has made enough difference. If not I expect my host will suspend me anyway!

Fantastic! This is just what I wanted to read today. My host suspended me for using too much CPU, and I can only think that it must be WPoMatic.

Hopefully this will do the trick. Are there any other things I should do to minimuse CPU load caused by WP-o-Matic?

Im having exactly the same problem. But in my case it appears when I use OnlyWire and WP O Matic

I downloaded the WPOMatic from your website. Overall I was very happy as it now doesnt post duplicated. However I seem to have lost all the links in the articles. I’m not using any word rewrites but really want to keep the links in the original articles working.

Is there something odd going on with it?
